Having seen both Gazette and Dir en Grey live on numerous occasions all I can say is that their concerts are like religious experiences, anyone feel the same?
I'm Glad you guys Checked out the THE GAZ in this timeline! This entire concert was amazing \ Superb. Still waiting for my Blue ray Copy of them performing NINTH here Yokohama Live. They are a Great band! Since 2002 they've proven it time and time again. They know how to make great music that's still really Rocks and has an impact. But in saying a lot of people dislike them because they know how to play it safe and generic as Hell which is made them one of the most known bands inside The modern day Visual Kei scene. DOGMA is my Fav the solid Gothic theme dark to light, the brutality is unmatched. But the album's influence is very Americanized.

First song I heard from them was Filth in the Beauty. It's probably about 10 years old now (you can tell just from the sound compared to the newer stuff), but I'll go back and listen to it every once in awhile. And when I do, I have to listen to it like 4 or 5 times in row!
Man that ending always gets me. Its like a resentful growl of wrath as he plunges into the abyss, easily among my fav "guttural scream" moments ever. I often just playback the whole video just to get a good buildup to that badass finish. Everytime I'm frustrated over something, just hearing that makes me feel like I've vented everything out.
Ruki's voice is like fine wine. Just keeps getting better with age. Though my favorite scream ever from him is still the one from the DIM Scene tour for the DIM Scene song at Saitama Live. That opening scream, all dressed like an Aristocrat, blew my mind the first time I saw it. To the point where I now prefer that live over the studio version.

The Visual Kei movement in Japan all pretty much started with the group " X-Japan " . The anime like hair style , gothic Victorian costuming. All mixed with very epic and complicated musical arrangements with symphonic and progressive rock influence.
Some of this is accurate. Visual Kei meaning\ dubbed (Visual Shock) was a Scene started in the early 80's with bands Like X JAPAN.. It was a Scene inspired souly by Western Glam Rock! Just a more of a over the Top eccentric aesthetic look. Anime had nothing to do with Kei's appearance. And X was not alone there was other bands out there using Dramatic Heavy make up at the time playing 🇺🇸 ripp off rock / metal. X was just the bands that lasted & got famous... Then a few members & Kasaki created their own Label. In the 90's band boom their was a Gothic look & some bands that wear little to no make up at all but still sang about mostly Love. Only a few bands later in 90-s timeline stood out & made VK unique.
I'm a year late but please please please react to Dogma live by them, it also has such incredible screaming and instrumentals. Seeing you react to them makes me remember once more how incredible they are. I saw them live once and it was the most insane experience, I've never spent this much energy before haha
