While talking about palmont and rockport having the same police force, I also wanna point out that despite the fact that cross is no longer a cop but instead a bounty hunter when carbon takes place, on heat level 5 apparently you can still encounter Cross in pursuit with his mw livery.

24:21 Finally someone mentioned that dialogue change between console generation. Because some NIS cutscene is altered because of hardware limitations.
I don't know if this is canon in the main NFS storyline but I'll just say it. In the 25th Anniversary event of Need For Speed: No Limits where the gamers drive a Bugatti Chiron, the final race of the event races with a Nissan GTR and the driver was named "Unknown Racer". After you placed first in the event, he says this..
"Olympic, Bayview, Rockport, Palmont.. These are my territories. But Blackridge is yours."
His final line is this..
"Oh and, thank you for taking care of the M3 for me."
Also, in one of the special events in No Limits, he left the M3 GTR to you in Blackridge (the city where No Limits take place). He left a note saying that he wants you to take on the Blacklist of Blackridge and become #1 to prove that you are worthy of the M3. He then lets you keep it if you win all of the events.
I don't know about you but I think.. that unknown racer and the protagonist of the Underground series and MW/Carbon.. are the same person. This also staples that he has been in Olympic City, Bayview, and Rockport for 4-5 years.(Only if you consider this canon since No Limits is just a free mobile game with a lot of micro-transactions).
This is the special event where you get the M3 GTR.

Staring In 26:02 of this video are the last two races of the 25th anniversary special event of No Limits where you drive the Bugatti Chiron. The unknown racer appears and races with you. After the final event, he acknowledges you and your skills that you own the city of Blackridge. Lastly, he thanked you for taking care of the M3.

as for san juan there is a concept map art of palmont city (not the mystery city demo map that we know) that can be found online along with NFS underground 2 and some others. It showed a different road layout and some different surroundings than the final game but also shows that san juan was always meant to be its own area as the tutorial zone for the game. In terms of where to put san juan geographically within the palmont city limits the only 3 plausible places to put it would be to the far north of silverton (due to its geography surroundings), east of silverton (due to the background tall skylights that you can see), or to the west of fortuna like on the nfs carbon out of level map. As for me though, since Silverton is based more or so on Las Vegas and San Juan is also in a desert environment, I would say stick San Juan to either to the east or north of silverton but san juan does have a river beside it. Not fully visible but iammostwanted2011 still has his archived playlist up for his nfs carbon theory videos if you wanna check them out. Besides that, the mystery city demo map while a very early look for palmont was only meant to be the demo map for carbon. It was never meant to be the actual in-game final map. Though this makes the actual placement of the canyons a bit divided as one side says put it where the map has it while others says put them based on their geography and surroundings. Carbon was also supposed to have an airport but got scrapped early on in development and the game had other past crew names like the trust and phantoms and you can see the le samurai logo plastered throughout parts of the city except downtown. Didn't mean to monologue for a whole paragraph of text but u can see carbon went through many changes (idk how many) but yea quite a lot.

Fun fact : in nfs carbon own the city you can select upto 2 members to race with you and it has a unique crew type which is assasin they can put out spikes while it also seems to have a few cut content from main game added in it.

Two things i want to say:
First, in 5:13 i never understood that part of the cutscene, isn't up hill the way out of Palmont City? If so, why did Darius, his crew and Nikki come from that direction?
Second, the unused race against Nikki is still possible to be accessed (kinda of...) in the vanilla game, in any version (PS2, PC, Xbox OG/360, Gamecube and Wii)
To do that, you need to use the glitch shown in this video

Then, in the part where you select a event in the Quick race menu, select any race in San Juan, quit the race, go to the career mode, select free roam, enter any race that allows you to have a crew member with you in the race without using the map, otherwise the glitch will be cancelled, you have to drive to event star, then instead of starting the event, on the "Engage Event" screen, press triangle (or Y for Xbox players) to select a crew member, select Nikki, and after the loading screen, the intro for the unused race will play and you will be racing against your crew member, although the game recognizes your teammate is not a opponent, if he/she wins the race, it says you lost in the end

wrong, M3 GTR wasn't planned to be in Carbon, they add it very late in Carbon development, after mass success of Most Wanted 2005. Even on Carbon Bonus DVD blackbox showed Cross Chase with Darius Toyota Supra.
Even so, now the Supra is seen as a placeholder when the M3 got added. Not that I discredit the car's existence, but I was talking in the sense of the story continuing where it left with the M3 instead of the Supra as Black Box originally planned.

@@dukev089 nah, i wouldn't count supra as placeholder. In first draft, carbon wasn't supposed to be mw sequel. Player ditching supra is valid and logical cause of heat he had. They wouldn't show supra if it was just placeholder.

17:49 To answer your question: no. Real EMP guns, designed for downing drones, are enormous. If I had to guess, the prop guy at Black Box probably needed some kind of sci-fi looking gun for this scene. Also, if I may nitpick for a moment, that's technically not a P90. It has, what appears to be, a long barrel, implying that it's the semi-auto only civilian PS90. Those things are expensive as hell so the prop guy was either given a massive budget or they just used airsoft replicas.
the supra isnt a placeholder. it even gets referenced in prostreet with the announcer saying a blue supra with the license plate reading CARBON was parked in a red tent zone and it would be towed if the owner didnt move it. it heavily implies that after the player escapes palmont in the supra, they headed to nevada. and the mw/carbon player is active during the events of prostreet where we play as ryan cooper and they presumably made a bunch of cash to get the m3 over the course of the game. at least for this sliver of the timeline, it goes carbon prologue, prostreet, mw2005, carbon, undercover, heat.

So when I was younger I only had carbon and hot pursuit 2 which are my favorite 2 nfs games on ps2 and when I got all the other games (loved both underground games) but comparing carbon to most wanted and undercover I thought and I still think this but carbon looked the best out of the 3 and the map was better (most wanted was more iconic and I liked how the story line connected before and after) but undercover still loved it, it had more and different classic muscle cars but I didn’t like the graphics of that game as much it looked nice but the colors were to bright and carbon between ps2 and 3 I have 8 different games on there (actually I started playing it again on ps2 again a week ago) but the other games I think besides pursuit and underground I okayed 2-3 times with a new game the rest I only played it once and I just kept going back to carbon

I have a solution to your conundrum floating timeline because you see thats the only logical way to explain it i still don't see how the player can't be Ryan Cooper or be the same one as in underground and UG2 but alas the best way and probably the only way is a floating timeline probably because they didn't care if the story 100% matched a logical storyline because if it was as crafted as you think wouldn't the time differences make more sense

@@HeroManNick132false. M3 ALMS wasn't supposed to return, but due to the MW05's well reception and positive feedback, BlackBox re added the car. Evidence of M3 not returning is on Carbon OPM Demo, as there's no "bmwm3gtre46" in the files.
Just remember this:
I don't discredit the Supra at all. The reason I said that is now a placeholder is because of the M3 being in the story over it.
If the M3 never returned or just only became a car to unlock for quick race, then that entire line would have been different if Black Box stucked to what they had planned.
The M3 being added changed the story, and I said what I said as what is seen in the game.
