Please leave a comment if you enjoyed the video guys, it really helps. Thank you all so much. ❤️ To answer a recurring question, the film is CGI animation but it was animated frame-by-frame to resemble physical stop-motion photography as closely as possible. 😊

Something I just picked up on: Rook appropriately shares a name with a chess piece. Here he is just a piece in the galactic “game” and being manipulated behind the scenes by the Emperor. Never really in control
I wonder if all of Squad 42's members have Chess names. Bishop, Pawn, etc. The Commander could either be King, because he's obviously the leader, or maybe Knight, cause he's the only one of his squad willing to stand up and fight for real justice.
Its clear that you’ve put a ton of work into this. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and I was entertained the whole way through. You should definitely be proud!
The brickfilm where everyone was hyped about. I've got to admit that this looks pretty awesome. The hype was all worth it. The CGI looks pretty awesome, almost revolutionairy. Also cuddos to Brick Tale for his work. He has done a great job along with everyone else who worked on this project. Nicely done, a nice return of the old legend and keep up the good work!
Thanks mate. Yeah Brick Tale was kind enough to give me loads of speeder models and the Republic Gunship with the 'headlights' on it, plus a huge library of sound effects to use. So helpful. :)
@@spugesdu I think this is Oscar nomination worthy for best animated short film. Definitely the cinematography, story, sound design and music. Me to everyone: let's give him a round of applause!
I am so glad I decided to search up and rewatch Squad 42 on a nostalgic whim. The old films, especially Alone In The Dark, were some of my favorite Lego films back in the day, and I had no idea they got a Sequel until now! It was amazing, seeing how far you, and this series, has come from humble origins. The original Squad 42 wasn't even voiced, and now we have not only incredible action and stellar animation, but a detailed and surprisingly compelling plot. Great work, and even if Squad 42 itself is technically dissolved, I still hope to see more of the adventures of the Commander, and his new Jedi friend, in the future. :)
If you enjoyed this please like, favourite and share it with anyone you think might enjoy it too! It really does help a lot. You guys are the best, thank you for waiting so patiently for the film's release. ^_^
Hey Gareth, have you thought about posting this to reddit? i bet there are lots of people on there who haven't got a clue who you are, but would appreciate this magnificent work of art none the less. I was thinking about the subreddits r/Lego, r/Starwars and r/legostarwars. Just a thought :) Other than that i am so happy to see your hard work come into fruition, and what a fruit it is! I watched the original squad 42 videos as a teenager and was awestruck by the stop motion back then. I wish i could go back in time and show my younger self how far you have come ;) Hope more is on the way
I’m really unsure how animations like this don’t get the recognition they deserve. The cinematography and set design alone are better than a lot of movies. Amazing job
Is this CGI? The way the camera moves through the set would be near impossible to achive in a real animation. Looks like this was made in the same way as the Lego movie. Good use of lighting also.

Apologize for the delay. I promised to myself that I will watch this in detail as soon as I get 12 minutes of free time. And here we go. Shocking indeed. From fantastic writing to the professional level of quality. Voicing was outstanding, every audio piece sounded like it's from a luxury car commercial. Modeling & design were very detailed. Texture was very shiny, well lit, and fits the story well. Movement was smooth, no lags, no unusual motions or physics. Some might see the motion on the slower side, but I personally really like it. Overall fantastic film, very good work from all of you guys. Would love to see more, especially from your classic stop motion films.
