Ormoc CIty has a charming Port and Plaza area for strolling eating and enjoying the nice ocean front... The Old Don Felipe Hotel was a good place to eat the classic Pancit canton bihon and Escabetche dishes.. When i traveled through Leyte... The Carenderias and some restaurants served a higher quality of Filipino foods.
Now it has grown and developed over the years.. The city is well managed and poised for good planning growth.. Such a friendly area..

18:08 Loved the live music chorus engaging with the ladies dancing into the area. You were at the right place at exactly the right time. Very laid back area. And the market looked very clean. Ormoc City is on my "to go" list. Thanks. 23:50 and 29:17: Locals seem friendly.

2020 census. Tacloban population 251K. Ormoc population 231K. Hardly a lot smaller!

As an expat i lived in Ormoc city, it is a poor desolate city, I wouldn't call it a city its a small town, nothing to do very boring, no good resturants, I moved out that town is not for me.

Only my opinion and we all know what those are like.........but It's not the girl at check-in areas fault they only accept cash. Good place? Yes. Are you sure? You come across as an arrogant westerner and I am a westerner. Maybe it's just your personality. You're a guest in the Philippines. Just appreciate the people and the country for what it is. Not trying to hammer you....just my take on it.
