Great idea to get out of town before the storm arrived! You had some beautiful sunshine and a great hiking trail. I’d love to hike there and enjoy the openness and variety of plants. We’ve visited NM a couple times but not the Las Cruces area, pretty! Delicious food too 👌😄 Thanks for sharing your hike! ☀☀
There was still a lot of snow and ice when we returned home. We had to park on the street or our vehicle would have possibly slid into the house or even worse the lake. I love the vast landscape. It actually makes my mind feel expansive. 😁 Thanks for visiting, Jennifer! ☀️
Las Cruces is such a gem......if you go to the end of the trail where the sign says "No entry, unexploded bombs" there is a path up to the left that goes up 400 feet or so to a ridgeline. The views up there are incredible....your right near the peak of all the mountains around you. This will make the Achenbach hike around 6 miles with a total elevation gain of around 1800 feet. Thanks for the VIDS Glenna. Now get the hubby to buy you a drone ! lol
Really enjoyed the ambient beginning, it's been a few years since Ive got to do some desert hiking now you've got me wanting to head back out west. Beautiful area and thank you for the tour!
Wow! I think the most impressive thing about this video is you saying the name of the place. Was there a teleprompter? NM is such a beautiful place. I have been there only once. It was further north though. After seeing the movie Young Guns I had to check out Billy the kids grave in Fort Sumner. I’m sure you two will love it once you move there. 👍
😂😂😂 No teleprompter! I thought it was pretty impressive too. 😎🏆 Hal traveled out here on a Boy Scout trip at 15 and has loved it ever since. When you leave to go back home and are sad to be leaving, you know that this place can be your new home.
Really nice hike...great choices of restaurants for both breakfast and dinner...nice way to spend the day😊
We agree! Both DH Lescombe and A Bite of Belgium were especially good. It’s nice to get a good meal after a hike. 🙂🥾🥾

Always nice to see New Mexico again. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like the video, Sue. I’m so happy you have fond memories of New Mexico. 🥰
Love it! I miss that part of the country. I lived in Sierra Vista Az from 1988-1992. I've driven through Las Cruces many times.
Great place indeed. Thanks for watching!
Well now I'm hungry and feel like hiking.😊 Thanks for sharing.
Haha! Right?! That’s some good grub at DH Lescombes. Hope you get to hike this week. I loved seeing all of the waterfalls in your last video.

New Mexico looks so nice and would love to visit one day, that was a great hike but cold! Def looks like you could get lost very easily! lol
We had a great time. The trail is easier to follow than it looks. Thanks for visiting! 💖
