  • It's the 16th Sunday after Pentecost and we'll gather online and in our sanctuary to explore our faith in our Creator God. We'll consider what it means to "show no partiality". It's the admonition that we'll hear from the Letter to James (James 2:1-17) and the example, or lack thereof, that we'll hear from the Gospel of Mark (Mark 7:24-31). What James testifies and what Jesus exemplifies are not necessarily one and the same. Come on Sunday to better understand what it is the "Lord requires of you."
As always, a special word of thanks to my worship assistants - Aaron Helber, Dave Bust, our guest pianist, Gabriel Merrill-Steskal * - and for the support and encouragement of the Bethel Church Board and the congregation at large.
Gabe is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan School of Music. Among his many academic and performance achievements, he accompanied the UofM Women’s Glee Club for the past three years. Gabe hails from Ellensburg, Washington; he along with his wife, Dr. Saba Zewdie DVM, share a passion for rock climbing.
