Another good fight of his was against a couple ofbother Americans called Byron Mitchell, Omar Shieka , Jeff Lacy is the one most people know him from, and a few good British fighters who he had good fights against were Robin Reid, Richie Woodhall , Chris Eubank and Europeans like Mario Veit twice (in the first one he destroyed him in one round but Veit was undefeated in 30 so everyone was sure that they were going to see something happen and they did,
And they did right about the time Calzaghe blew him away ),Mikkel Kessler was a really good fight and for me Kessler who was also undefeated and in his prime (but in a wholedifferentleagueto Veit) ,I mean Kessler was an undefeated two belt holding and he was 27 years old prime age at the time whereas Calzaghe was about 34 or 35 that's why I rate that win so much gave probably the best performance of any opposition that Calzaghe came up against a prime young hungry, real ,good champion who no-one could deny and after and Kessler did regain a version of the title a couple of times si that provedthat he wasn'ta hype job, while Calzaghe moved up to Light Heavyweight there are a few more
Good fights of his that I can't think of but u should check them out man, 💯🥊👊😎✌

@@cameroncopus9737 One of the british greats, definitely, but probably not the best ever.
The best ever might be fellow welshman jimmy wilde.
He holds the record for boxing's unbeaten streak (not chavez, as many seem to think), going unbeaten in his first 95 fights, and finishing with 131 wins against 3 defeats.
He's usually regarded as the greatest flyweight ever.
I'd certainly put joe up there, post ww2

the sound of punches in this match are unbelievably heavy and constant, they were both motivated, and Brewer was a good boxer, Calzaghe was a beast! You won't find as many matches like these on the web! Very generous match from both! I think this was perhaps the best match of Calzaghe, for constant power and defense expressed, he removed the remaining doubts from the hard people to convince! That day he would beat anyone!

This fight was the reason Bernard Hopkins pulled out of a fight with Calzaghe later in
the year. Agreed the purse, agreed the American venue.... Hopkins knew he wasnt big
enough to bully Calzaghe. He ducked it.

I'm a big fan of Calzaghe but I didn't like his cynical holding of Brewer's left arm on the inside from round 8 onwards. It was presumably because Brewer hurt Calzaghe with half a dozen good shots late in the previous round. Brewer should have been smarter and, as the commentators said, not walk in without throwing, but Calzaghe should have been warned by the referee in my opinion, it was cheating and at odds with the very honest and admirable way they both fought early on, with the referee barely having to step in.
