I first read Tom's book "If You Could See What I Hear" a few months after our baby son was diagnosed with an untreatable condition that would leave him totally blind. I was feeling pretty hopeless and discouraged then--until I read how Tom rode horses, biked cross-country, ran, skied, rock-climbed---and even saved his own toddler son from drowning in a pool (Tom was home alone and had to rely on hearing rather than sight to find his son--he listened for the "popping" of air bubbles to find where his son was in the pool). I gained hope from him that that blindness was (as the NFB says) "NOT a tragedy--just a darn nuisance"--and that my son COULD have a fulfilling life despite his disability. Today my son is in college on scholarship studying music, and I thank people like Tom Sullivan who gave me hope as a young mother that the only limitations are those in our minds. Thank you, Mr. Sullivan!
Be sure that blindness is even now.being cured by medical research and technology.. The future will bring sight to many many more . Weird thing is I have known deaf folks who reject technology that can make them hear . Claiming the nonsense that being dead was natural? I hope those blind will not be so foolish .
Thanks Tom Sullivan , it's a Great song and you are a Great singer and actor .Just watched this episode of highway to heaven. A Great program with Great people sadly Michael and Victor passed away a long time ago. My wife and I watch it on Netflix.
You are very inspiring. I am not blind through my eyes but sometimes I'm blind in the heart. Thanks Tom Sullivan for the beautiful song that has a great meaning for me. All the Colors of the heart.
So true God used his heart in a mighty way Victor also❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. We all will SEE you in glory. In heaven the blind will see the lame will walk no sickness or diseases AMEN 🙏. Thank you Lord for touching our lives with Micheal and. Everyone lives with HIGHWAY TO GRAVEN AND LIYYLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️THANK YOU JESUS!!!!
Also Tom Sullivan that was also on the show also he was on the Airport series played a piano player in Airport-the one where the plane goes down in the ocean. Thanks Micheal and Tom!!!!!!!
I just saw this on Highway to Heaven, I especially like the part about "take off the mask" because of Covid19. I realized that the blind people can't see us with our masks so their experiences must be somehow different than sighted people who were used to seeing someone's whole face and using that to read facial expressions and emotions and now they can't. I am a sighted person. I like this song a lot, and it reminds me of True Colors by Phil Collins because it's about being true to yourself and looking inside to show who you truly are. :) Plus - colors!
I love this show and little house on the prairie . Days of sorrow,Days of sunshine. When Baby Rose ,gets born on the show. They don't show that part anymore ,wish they did .

That's Amazing, "You can do anything if you put your mind to it" is slightly true I guess then!

Word and Music
Verse:
I don’t know day from night
And I don’t know dark from light
And I believe that life is more
Than just the gift of sight
Rainbows I’ll never see
Don’t mean half as much to me
The colors found within the soul
Have rainbows that can be
Refrain:
All the colors of the heart
Are more than you can see
You’ve got to look beyond
To find what’s you and me
All the colors of the heart
They have a special light
Look inside,
Find the colors of the heart
Verse:
I know I really see
The ‘you’ you’d like to be
The special one that hides behind
The one that others see
So let’s put the masks aside
Some feelings we tried to hide
And understand the colors of
The heart can’t be denied
Refrain ♥♥♥
