Just finished watching the drama 2521 and I cannot even clearly explain what im feeling. If the ending of the drama came from this song then BaekDo didnt end up together. The drama purely revolves around the memories she had around 1998-2002. It's sad though how the writers didnt even leave us pieces that could lead our minds at ease. I hate open endings. I wish and hope there is a special episode. Atleast. The viewers deserve it and im traumatized now by the ending hahahaha
The writers may have been aiming to capture an accurate snap shot of something we've all experienced or will experience at some point. It's that feeling where you regret missing out on what could have been, but, at the same time, you would never give up the happiness that you now have.
It’s not an open ending every character got it proper conclusion if you want to say hee do didn’t it’s blatantly not true, the last dialogue on the diary, helped her to resolved her regrets so ending is perfect

It simple, most of the time our life that evolves cause of situations have that ending we grew apart with all the memories intact and that the how its goes so ending is good also since the drama never aimed to be a happy lovey dovey ending since the very start it talked about life and how situations change everything.

I read that he died in his sleep (possibly from overwork) when he was 27. I don't know if they were still together at the time but she was devastated when he died.
