Without Emi Fujita, I wouldn't know this Norwegian beautiful melody. Beautiful music only comes from a beautiful country. I wish to visit Norway one day.
An old comment I have used. Tir n'a Noir" is a melody by Øyvind Staveland (He is the one who plays the flute) that Kolbein Falkeid (December 1933 - June 2021 was a Norwegian poet.) Put into words, which is one of the most famous songs of the group Vamp. It was first released on the group's debut album Good Morning, Sister in 1993. It's about a man who just before he dies, thinks of Mary McKear (beautiful girl he met when he was younger) far west in Tir n'a Noir (a mythical land in Irish mythology) He's not sure if it's just a dream, or a reality. But he remembers he was so happy with her. He is so happy when he dies, because he is sure that he will come to a better world, and that he will meet his loved one again. th-cam.com/video/97HQ1U-uGaU/w-d-xo.html Here vamp is well helped by Eivør, it's funny that she sings in her own language, it wouldn't have been a problem for her if she had used Norwegian Here we have a Japanese singer Emi Fujita, who has her interpretation of the song. th-cam.com/video/yvWwyEwwhVI/w-d-xo.html Here you will find a translation from Norwegian to English. www.abcsonglyrics.com/rita-eriksen/tir-na-noir.html
You, Norwegians, can be proud to live in a country with beautifull waterfalls and mountains. Nowadays, I understand why my sister is moved to Norway....
I felt myself so asham and like Oisín who came to Tír na nÓg to get old and dead when I first listened to this tune in Norwegian in another TH-cam site today. Howeber I'm so glad to meet this awsome song. Go raibh maith agat, Mange Takk,Domo Arigato and Thank you so much...
LYRICS: It's a cold November As the sea crashes in But I still do remember Though the memory grows dim To a magical summer With sweet Mary Mckear In the west,in Tir n'a Noir Were you there as a dream Though it all seems so real With the laughter I hear and the touch I can feel? far beyond the horizon Where the fog disappears You were mine, dear Mary Mckear Though my body's broken And my spirit is weak My soul is awoken As I hear someone speak Please come back my lover Now your future lies here Please come back to Tir n'a Noir You were good, you were kind You'll have all that you earned For the secrets you kept And the lessons you learned So I'll take you with me As your pain desappears I'll be yours, your Mary Mckear For all who have lived through A life of regret Who have need to remember But try to forget There's a place in the distance Who's future is clear In the west, in Tirna Noir Were you there as a dream Though it all seems so clear With the laughter I hear and the touch I can feel? I can cure all your sorrows And heal all your fears I'll be yours, your Mary McKear
I've been listening to this version for quite some time now and it has truly thrilled me. Even better is the fact that it is actually recorded with Vamp back in 2001, soon to be 10 years. Well.. Time flies, thats for sure. Nonetheless, beautiful.
ผมชอบเพลงนี้มาก...Jeg liker denne sangen mye....I like this song a lot....Mér finnst þetta lag mikið...Jeg kan lide denne sang en masse...Is maith liom an amhrán go leor...EGO amo is multus cantus... Mi piace molto questa canzone...J'aime cette chanson beaucoup...Ek hou van hierdie liedjie baie.....
I'm a Singer And I Want To Say If I Were To Do A Duet With Someone, Then I Would Definetly Want To Have A Duet With Emi Fujita. I Would Be Very Honored If We Were Doing A Duet.
I think this song is difficult to translate into English...For me this english version is a totally different song that the original one .. It doesn't give the same feeling and the "images i gets in my head" isn't anything like the ones that i get from the norwegian version.
Ok translation. But the 3rd verse is missing and completely rewritten by the translator. The second part of the second verse too. Good arrangement though....

LYRICS:
It's a cold November
As the sea crashes in
But I still do remember
Though the memory grows dim
To a magical summer
With sweet Mary Mckear
In the west,in Tir n'a Noir
Were you there as a dream
Though it all seems so real
With the laughter I hear and the touch I can feel?
far beyond the horizon
Where the fog disappears
You were mine,dear Mary Mckear
Though my body's broken
And my spirit is weak
My soul is awoken
As I hear someone speak
Please come back my lover
Now your future lies here
Please come back to Tir n'a Noir
You were good,you were kind
You'll have all that you earned
For the secrets you kept
And the lessons you learned
So I'll take you with me
As your pain desappears
I'll be yours,your Mary Mckear
For all who have lived through
A life of regret
Who have need to remember
But try to forget
There's a place in the distance
Who's future is clear
In the west, in Tirna Noir
Were you there as a dream
Though it all seems so clear
With the laughter I hear and the touch I can feel?
I can cure all your sorrows
And heal all your fears
I'll be yours, your Mary McKear
