Ain't that the same with people in the US? I mean majority of us literally shop, eat ,watch lights on the week and day of Christmas. You hardly see anyone having a quiet Christmas at home appreciating Jesus.
I'm a Chinese Christian and we celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ and lots of Christians do that too, maybe not the youth but traditionalist Chinese & elderly Chinese do that. Happy Christmas to everybdoy, 3 MONTHS in advance! :D.
but serious question, am i wrong or are most asian people not christian but have religions like Buddhist (reincarnation) etc.? also when asians have a different religion do they still celebrate christmas? asking because I was in thailand while christmas time and christmas eve and they did have christmas trees in the hotels etc. but I was wondering if it was only for the tourists because outside in thailand there was barely any christmas stuff
Chinese people use Christmas as a outgoing festival such as shopping while western people use Chinese spring Festival as the same like visit Chinatown for dragon show its the same
@@peekaboopeekaboo1165 I know what you are trying to say but I am talking about the vast majority. no Chinese christians will be offended by Christmas shoppings believe me
It's not even Jesus’ birthday, it's a Pagan holiday in the end of the year to bring tree branches in your home to welcome the incoming spring, Christians stole or plagiarize that idea and made it the birthday of Jesus, in fact, if Jesus never died, I am pretty sure he would fight against Catholic church for their cruel and oppressive atrocities.
@@xuanminglu1507 That may be the case but the Vatican moved it to the winter season. So even though technically it isn't his real birthday it's celebrated on Christmas, hence the name Christ-mas, not Santa-mas or Pagan-mas. True that some customs are pagan traditions but it has been converted to Christianity and unfortunately corporate America.
In short, it's a festival of shopping, party, food, drink and fxxking, all Western festivals are celebrated in similar manner in China, they are not about the religion, not about the family, but pure exotic fun.
Well Santa Claus is known to wear red things because of Coca Cola... before Christmas there are a lot of discounts to make people even more interested to buy... in videogames (like the one on mobile phones) have events for these festivities where some limited editions stuff can be bought with the use of real money or difficult to come by game money (difficult if you don't use money)... so... is it much different?
To be honest, the Christian churches in the west never made a big deal about Christmas until about 200 years ago. Easter was the big celebration for Christians. Also, a lot of Christmas customs are holdovers from older pagan traditions
All holidays is the same for me. Even everyday is the same for me. Because i'm a shift worker who just follow working schedule regardless of days or seasons. And while everybody eats steamed chicken and potato stew at home, i eat my own sweat.

How to tell the difference between China traditional Festival and foreign festival in China? China traditional Festival : U get a big meal with friends and family. foreign festival: U get a one-night big room with your lover.
It's a shame that people don't know why it is and what they are celebrating for... It's totally religious activity and I don't understand why Chinese are into it
Not really I think, because my hometown is Hebei but is Shijiazhuang, actually we do have some of celebrate activities but not as lot as Shanghai or Beijing, not even cut, many of the regular store still sale the Christmas item, some of banned because they didn't reported to the Distric Government so they banned because it's illegal if not reported to the distric government. And also Langfang is just a small city...
Actually we don't have so much limit of Western festival, although it doesn't really have a short holiday, I think we even have lots of fun whether the Western festival or traditional Chinese festival. I guess before I said to you that I from Hebei, you may even don't know where Langfang really is, or which location of the Hebei. I know 50 states names of the US and 34 provinces of my country, so do you know every states/provinces name other than your own country? I guess you may not lol......
The Chinese will celebrate anything. Even if the celebration is from a different culture, Chinese will celebrate it if they know it’s a celebration and have been exposed to it. I’m a Canadian-Chinese and I will celebrate any holiday that I’m exposed to.
You will find Santa, lights and Christmas Trees everywhere, but ask why Christmas is celebrated, most Chinese will not know, but enjoy the excuse to have a party, shop and celebrate with friends.
Christmas is a year end celebration. Its not the birthday of Jesus. He was born sometime in autumn. Santa Clause was introduced into the festival few hundred years ago from Europe folk story. China should have its own year end celebration on the Winter Solace (22nd Dec) and stretch it to the first week of January. The decoration could be different from the Tradition western Christmas celebration. You should dream up something just like Christmas with Santa, Christmas tree decoration all add-in from time to time. Go on, let's see if something ever happen by end of 2019. The festival can be improved with time to make it special year end holiday celebration with Chinese Character!! Good Luck.
China once banned Christmas because that day commemorates the millions of Chinese soldiers who died of cold while the US was happily celebrating Christmas.
There is no solution to let Chinese people celebrate Christmas again because Chairman Mao was born on December 26, 1893. They need to celebrate his birthday instead of Christmas. Now China Govt want to people to remember to merits of Chairman Mao and recognize Xi Jing Ping as the only genuine successor of Chairman Mao's ideology. You can see they can't place "Merry Christmas" plate on the trees. Hongkong and Macau are the only cities in China that can show "Merry Christmas" messages publicly. But this year, some big companies are so afraid of China govt that they also avoid showing "Merry Christmas" as big as before or show "Season's Greetings" instead and some even not showing any message like in Beijing.
Well consider most of the Christmas products are made in China anyway.. why not take advantage of it and make a buck while everything is already available?
Christian are also in China they do not understand it is buisness who does not know the holy Bible He can easily say it is buisness and saunta and others things
For Chinese, most western festivals are shopping festivals
True

Just like in the U.S., Christmas has turned into a corporate / shopping holiday. (Black Friday, small business Saturday, cyber Monday, etc etc)
Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, are shopping holidays though lol, christmas isn't but has.
Ironic considering the rest of the world believes that China is 100% communist
