I don't think real venom would do this. The explanation for why venom did such things was unclear. Venom isn't evil, he hated Spider-Man because he rejected the symbiote after the symbiote tried helping Peter so many times and Eddie Brock also got his life ruined by Peter when he lost his job and girlfriend. He was at his lowest point in life when he became venom. Ideally Venom changed Eddie to become a better man.

It's such a tragic and fucked up line at once. Tragic in how it sounds like it's Harry wanting to let his dad know he's going to be okay but it's also tragic as it shows how Harry is diluted into believing that Venom is helping him be come stronger and health without him realizing it's making him a puppet. Fucked up in how it's a sick ironic truth of what Norman wanted and caused as he played with a cosmic creature without understanding that he was fucking with forces beyond human control. He wanted to make a way to save his son but all he did was condemn him into what might've been eternal servitude to a creature that sees him as a puppet and a means if survival

Him getting rejected like that is extra painful for him since it was one of the few things that he felt was special about him, and was what got him exiled from Klyntar in the first place. One thing that's always guaranteed with a Spiderman story involving Venom: It's gonna be dark. It didn't have to go as hard as it did and I love it. It feels almost like a Prototype game with the symbiote spreading like a virus

I don’t think the Venom symbiote was redeemable at all in this game. From the moment it bonded with Harry, it manipulated his mind that he would do the right thing by turning everyone else into symbiote puppets, including Harry’s friends. The symbiote in this game is just as bad as in Web of Shadows. Started off as twisting its host and eventually devolved into Venom just using them as a battery, vaguely even pretending they care for their hosts interests.

The director discussed about a potential Venom spin-off. Maybe that's when it will bond with Eddy Brock and give us more explainations about Venom's prior motives, and will make him an Anti-Hero.
“We will heal the world.” This line has two different meanings that I feel describes Harry and Venom perfectly. For Venom, it shows how he genuinely thinks infecting (possibly to spread Knull’s will given how the infected Symbiotes look like) the world will “help” everyone, that he’s doing them a favor, telling Peter that “we ARE your friend,” and being a mix of possibly being hurt and angry that he’s fighting the gift he is “bestowing” upon him. For Harry, it shows how he thinks the world can be a better place for everyone, and even if he’s dying, he wants to change the world and help it before he dies, and puts himself above others, almost killing himself to save the world from Venoms “Gift.” Maybe I’m wrong or reading too much into this, but that’s what I think at least.
Venom really gets treated unfairly. Even Kraven who killed multiple people and is actively trying to kill SM get spared because killing is bad, while Venom, who had Peter's back many times, should be destroyed as soon as deemed dangerous.
Sounds pretty accurate. After a certain point for Venom it was just the suit talking. Vs Miles it was saying how Miles was jealous of Peter’s arrangement with it, how Miles stole Peter from it. Venom wanted to essentially conquer the world and use healing it as a front, kinda like the Lizard in ASM1
I’m more inclined to think that Venom is more so like a virus. Its only goal is to replicate and it has the capabilities of throwing your emotions into overdrive when it comes to jealousy, insecurity and hatred. Venom doesn’t have thoughts or particular inclinations towards anyone or anything else. He doesn’t care about Spider-Man or anyone else in particular. It seems like it does because it is what Harry wants. And since it aligns with Venoms interests to have Spider-Man on their side, not stopping it from world domination, he uses that aspect of Harry wanting Peter on his side to try and sway Peter. Venom essentially takes on the personality of its host after perfect fusing and uses the hosts goals and motivations to drive its main purpose, world domination and replication. Harry wanted to heal the world, so venoms main goal was masked as healing it. If it had been someone else who wanted to punish the world, venoms goal would be passed off as punishing the world.

Harry is angry with Peter, he thinks Peter is trying to keep the symbiote and left him to die, why not fuel his anger and kill off Spider-man or at least forcefully convert without attempts of persuasion? Second, Venom the symbiote established itself as a person, and gets angry when called "thing". This is not just a tactical miscalculation but also confirms that the symbiote has an ego and cares about the opinions of others about it. Third, symbiote made it clear that it holds grudges towards Kraven, Miles and Peter for being separated from og SM. On one hand it is understandable, Peter is a stronger host and losing him is interring with the mission and on the other hand Venom brings it up to Peter too, and calls it betrayal indicating that it was personal. What do you think?
Sound team did a phenomenal job with venom. His roar, his speech, the way the symbiote sounds all fleshy and wet when it moves and bonds to something. Just amazing! Hopefully i can get hired by a big time studio like insomniac to do sound engineering/design. Truly inspiring! :)

All the things you named that make him “peak venom” come from Eddie 😂 If you guys read king in black you’d have a heart attack 😭 Not only does venom get wings there(that’s where the inspiration is from in this game), he becomes the true king in black, picks up thors hammer and silver surfers board and fuses them into a battle axe and proceeds to bully Knull then kills him. If you think this is the most metal venom gets or this is peak venom, you have A LOT of reading to do

I’ve seen so many comments saying, “wHyD tHeY ChOoSE HarRy aS VenOm” But the way the devs made Harry’s story with the symbiote is PERFECT. Harry is mad at Peter and thinking he’s letting him die from not giving him the symbiote even tho he was trying to help which gives him even more of a reason to kill Peter after he gets the symbiote. He is literally perfect for the symbiote and the way they portrayed venom is PERFECT
Expect “Venom” in this game doesn’t want to kill Spider-Man. He even asked Peter to join him. And all the build up for Venom would be great if it weren’t like two cutscenes and Peter and Harry were on the same on page for all the game expect for those two cutscenes. They were best friend for all the game, Peter is a jerk to him once and somehow the result is a big monster with teeth. The reason they gava on why they made Harry Venom is because they wanted to make a more original story and to make a story where Venom is Peter’s best friend which doesn’t make sense. Harry was already Venom in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon (heck Venom being a Peter friend is a concept they have already used in Spettacular and the ultimate comics) and this is the third they use this trope “the villain is protagonist friend”

They rewrote the script several times. Tasm 2 is also heavily overhated it definitely has a lot of good scenes buried under studio meddling.
I was not expecting to get to play as Venom in this one! The remember how brutal Venom was to play in Ultimate Spider-man, how his tentacles hit like a train, how his super jump felt like it broke the sound barrier and that back breaking move you could do on some poor thugs... Whooooooooo boyyyyyyyy. This game really brought back that same feeling of Venom's terrifying power!

12:47 you can see as venom begins to come forth Harry's face begins to deteriorate same as when the symbiote left him. Its not healing him so much as simply postponing the inevitable like it did with Eddie in the comics. The symbiote is wearing him and we see that clear as day right here
God just seeing how good he looks in design makes me tear up lol. I wish we’d get more games this good. This should be the standard for making a game at least the best way possible storywise and respect to the source material
In terms of story I was feeling the slightest bit during the first half just because I wasn't getting that novel excitement that I got from the two previous entries however then it picked up into high gear and I absolutely loved it. The game just kind of takes its time

I KNOW his voice IS that deep, but the type of voice he uses here is a bit more lower in volume then what it is usally thats what I meant when i said his vocie was "made" quiet here. Venom has TT classic deep alien voice but it is a bit more quiet then usally and not as booming. Deep yet quiet voice. But it still works, since this is an alien.

Carnage was meant to further showcase Venom’s sense of morality. This is one of the most boring interpretations of Venom. Go watch the 90s Spider-Man cartoon or The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon- those have far better adaptations of Venom

In Spiderman Marvel them main goal of the main antagonists' have been, at the beginning, to make the world a better place, but over time it was twisted to doubt, hate and revenge.
In my case, I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t be Harry because it had been done once before in the Ultimate cartoon. It was bad. Like really *really* bad. Here it doesn’t sting for me because there was an actual arc. Still kinda miss Eddie Brock, but I can work with this.
I love how they drew inspiration from web of shadows. In web of shadows venom actually succeeds overtaking the world. It’s your job to fight all throughout New York and find a solution to this Apocalypse. One of my favorite childhood games.

I hope there's even a small hope, in a new continuity or if there's another peice of him left, that Venom actually becomes a Anti-hero like in the Venom films and actually becomes Spider-man's best friend and brother. Without the meteor, he cannot build a hive, so the next best thing to "heal the world" is to become the lethal protector.
Plus, Carnage is out there, so a Lethal Protector would be recommended
I don’t think the Venom symbiote was redeemable at all in this game. From the moment it bonded with Harry, it manipulated his mind that he would do the right thing by turning everyone else into symbiote puppets, including Harry’s friends. The symbiote in this game is just as bad as in Web of Shadows. Started off as twisting its host and eventually devolved into Venom just using them as a battery, vaguely even pretending they care for their hosts interests.

It got annoying because you just beat the shit out of endless amounts of them towards the end of the game. The director discussed about a potential Venom spin-off. Maybe that's when it will bond with Eddy Brock and give us more explainations about Venom's prior motives, and will make him an Anti-Hero.

“We will heal the world.”
This line has two different meanings that I feel describes Harry and Venom perfectly. For Venom, it shows how he genuinely thinks infecting (possibly to spread Knull’s will given how the infected Symbiotes look like) the world will “help” everyone, that he’s doing them a favor, telling Peter that “we ARE your friend,” and being a mix of possibly being hurt and angry that he’s fighting the gift he is “bestowing” upon him. For Harry, it shows how he thinks the world can be a better place for everyone, and even if he’s dying, he wants to change the world and help it before he dies, and puts himself above others, almost killing himself to save the world from Venoms “Gift.” Maybe I’m wrong or reading too much into this, but that’s what I think at least.
Venom really gets treated unfairly. Even Kraven who killed multiple people and is actively trying to kill SM get spared because killing is bad, while Venom, who had Peter's back many times, should be destroyed as soon as deemed dangerous.
Sounds pretty accurate. After a certain point for Venom it was just the suit talking. Vs Miles it was saying how Miles was jealous of Peter’s arrangement with it, how Miles stole Peter from it. Venom wanted to essentially conquer the world and use healing it as a front, kinda like the Lizard in ASM1

I’m more inclined to think that Venom is more so like a virus. Its only goal is to replicate and it has the capabilities of throwing your emotions into overdrive when it comes to jealousy, insecurity and hatred. Venom doesn’t have thoughts or particular inclinations towards anyone or anything else. He doesn’t care about Spider-Man or anyone else in particular. It seems like it does because it is what Harry wants. And since it aligns with Venoms interests to have Spider-Man on their side, not stopping it from world domination, he uses that aspect of Harry wanting Peter on his side to try and sway Peter.
Venom essentially takes on the personality of its host after perfect fusing and uses the hosts goals and motivations to drive its main purpose, world domination and replication.
Harry wanted to heal the world, so venoms main goal was masked as healing it. If it had been someone else who wanted to punish the world, venoms goal would be passed off as punishing the world.

First, as you said, Venom tries to sway Peter. Harry is angry with Peter, he thinks Peter is trying to keep the symbiote and left him to die, why not fuel his anger and kill off Spider-man or at least forcefully convert without attempts of persuasion?
Second, Venom the symbiote established itself as a person, and gets angry when called "thing". This is not just a tactical miscalculation but also confirms that the symbiote has an ego and cares about the opinions of others about it.
Third, symbiote made it clear that it holds grudges towards Kraven, Miles and Peter for being separated from og SM. On one hand it is understandable, Peter is a stronger host and losing him is interring with the mission and on the other hand Venom brings it up to Peter too, and calls it betrayal indicating that it was personal.

Sound team did a phenomenal job with venom. His roar, his speech, the way the symbiote sounds all fleshy and wet when it moves and bonds to something. Just amazing!

But the way the devs made Harry’s story with the symbiote is PERFECT. Harry is mad at Peter and thinking he’s letting him die from not giving him the symbiote even tho he was trying to help which gives him even more of a reason to kill Peter after he gets the symbiote. He is literally perfect for the symbiote and the way they portrayed venom is PERFECT

Expect “Venom” in this game doesn’t want to kill Spider-Man. He even asked Peter to join him.
And all the build up for Venom would be great if it weren’t like two cutscenes and Peter and Harry were on the same on page for all the game expect for those two cutscenes. They were best friend for all the game, Peter is a jerk to him once and somehow the result is a big monster with teeth.
The reason they gava on why they made Harry Venom is because they wanted to make a more original story and to make a story where Venom is Peter’s best friend which doesn’t make sense. Harry was already Venom in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon (heck Venom being a Peter friend is a concept they have already used in Spettacular and the ultimate comics) and this is the third they use this trope “the villain is protagonist friend”

I was not expecting to get to play as Venom in this one! The remember how brutal Venom was to play in Ultimate Spider-man, how his tentacles hit like a train, how his super jump felt like it broke the sound barrier and that back breaking move you could do on some poor thugs... Whooooooooo boyyyyyyyy. This game really brought back that same feeling of Venom's terrifying power!

In terms of story I was feeling the slightest bit during the first half just because I wasn't getting that novel excitement that I got from the two previous entries however then it picked up into high gear and I absolutely loved it. The game just kind of takes its time
Yeah it's a slow burn type of story where you start big but it gives you time to calm down before it thrusts you back into the deep end
The first 2 games were like that as well.
There could be no one better then Tony Todd as Venom. A brillaint choice. A bit disapointing though his voice is made deep yet quiet here. However, giving the alien lifeform that Venom is.

Carnage was meant to further showcase Venom’s sense of morality. Not to mention, Venom was always goofy. ffs the first thing he says to Spider-Man in the comics is him reciting the lyrics to Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
This is one of the most boring interpretations of Venom. Go watch the 90s Spider-Man cartoon or The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon- those have far better adaptations of Venom

I love how they drew inspiration from web of shadows. In web of shadows venom actually succeeds overtaking the world. It’s your job to fight all throughout New York and find a solution to this Apocalypse. One of my favorite childhood games.
