Carbs, sugar, seed oils rule the world now. In the past, I have always gained weight on my trips to Thailand….but in January 2022, I was obese. I cut out sugar, rice, potatoes, bread, pasta…etc… and only eat Beef, Salmon, Eggs, Sardines, raw, multi-vegetable salads with berries and use extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. I also eat nuts, kimchi, sauerkraut. I ate one meal a day in 4 hours and fasted 20 hours. I walked 8 miles every other day. By October 2022, I had lost 60 lbs, got off 7 medications I had been taking for 20+ years and have had the best blood test results ever. Two years and 8 months later, I still follow the same lifestyle and have maintained my weight. I never get hungry.
It's all happening there Wayne. Certainly need to control consumption of those foods high in carbs but the occasional treat here and there doesn't hurt too much. Excellent video!! Cheers 🤩
Honestly, that is the kind of market I like. Not so large you can get lost, not so packed you can't move, and the veggies and fruits looked so fresh. I would certainly spend some of my time there frequently. I recommend you add walnuts for brain health and Brazil nuts for cholesterol. Start there, anyway. 😉
It's a great little Area that I really love it round there, everything you could want and so close to downtown 89 plaza very nice Chiang Mai is changing so fast
Awesome stuff mate I have lost a lot of weight since being here I used to eat loads of bread in uk but haven’t really bothered here and their is no Indian restaurant near where i live 😂😂
Loved this video. Funny watching into the future. Looked it up on the map to see how far from Chiang Mai main city. My husband wanted to jump through the tv and have some of those potatoes. Lol. Can you tell me your favorite sub district that would suit an expat non Thai couple to retire too.
Thank you Sonia! Whenever I see potatoes I'm a happy man 🤣. The place I would recommend is the most popular... Hang Dong. It would be the easiest to settle with an Expat community. But my favourite is Saraphi or Nong Hoi. Not so popular with the Expats but still very close to the city.
There’s a few markets here in Jomtein that do jacket potatoes, with various fillings, even rarer than those potatoes you saw. Hua Hin also I remember seeing them!
Hey Wayne great videos.. just a question , with passport renewal you did a video on it a while back with vfs global , just wondering do I need to go there in person ,and roughly cost..
I think you do need to go in person mate, because they need to check everything. It was around £150 for big passport with extra pages. Took about 2 weeks for me. Great service. It’s worth looking at their website , they might accept mail documents now. I don’t think they do, but worth a look.
Have you done videos of Lang Maw (Suthep Road) or inside Chiang Mai University at night? They have an enormous amount of outdoor food for the students (and tourists) and it's quite lively.
Really? I know lots of hotels for $15 a night. I would find one when you get here. Hope you enjoy the trip though mate, November a great time to be here.
@@WalkAboutWayne Yes the best! I was picky with the neighborhood. I like to be close to the University because I love to run around the lake and eat in the night market accross the campus. Maybe that's why.
Try and negotiate an offer with the host. Sometimes if a host is running a subletting operation (eg. offering loads of condos in the same development) they're cool with taking a lowball offer to avoid a condo just sitting empty

Great video, Wayne. May I suggest getting a microphone? Always seems like you're yelling. A mic will allow you to talk to us in a more relaxed manner. Cheers!
Really? Why would you Look like a whale? You don’t need to eat street food every day. My health and diet is the best it’s ever been. Vegetables, fresh fruits and a couple nights a week like this. Cheers 👍
That's a old farangs myth mate you will get fat LoL people are just overly joyed coming Thailand 😂 I could never eat crocodile 🐊 I'm scared they eat me back
Beautiful vid Mate! This is one of those reasons to love Chiang Mai. Thanks very much for bringing this great bit of Thai Vibe to us!

They've made it into a nice place nowadays. Potatoes was so good.

Lovely. There are only delicious things.
Very tasty ♥️
We call that a potato scollop in Australia! 😊
I think that’s the name for them in the UK also. I remember them as a kid .
There’s a few markets here in Jomtein that do jacket potatoes, with various fillings, even rarer than those potatoes you saw. Hua Hin also I remember seeing them!
Chiang Mai also, baked potatoes in the local markets. They're not so rare here.
Awesome. I would have talked to that girl lol. You are near where my shop house will be once we move there.
Nice one ! It’s a good area , you will love it. Plenty of girls for you to talk too aswell 👌
oh HELL YEAH on the potatoes man!!!
Love me some Potatoes! 🥔
Those burgers are pretty darn tasty especially at their price points. So much busier then when I was last there, it looks bumping.
It's a happening place these days. I must try one of those burgers soon.

Yes, I've done many vlogs around Suthep and the University 👍
Hello Wayne 👍
Hey Phil, hope all is well mate.
i tell you what it changed finding an Airbnb for my November trip for under $35 a night was a strugle. Hope it looks a little like the photos. Cheers!

If I ate Thai street food, I would look like The Whale and need a triple bypass. Wishing you good health and low cholesterol, mate.
Really? Why would you

Any genuine “Apple” stores in Chiang Mai?
Only Istudio. I think the only 100% official Apple store is in Bangkok.
The middle age spread is coming🤣
Sure is mate, harder to shift nowadays 🤣
should be 69 plaza haha
🤣🤣🤣
