I have a Eastman 415bk. The tailpieces break on the Eastman mandolins. I've got a new tailpiece I put on there That Eastman sent me to replace it. They did not put the felt on the new replacement. Thinking I could just take the felt off the old one. Put it on the new one. You need new felt pieces to put on the new replacement. I've got a buzz and I know that's what it is. Not enough felt. But I love everything you said about what could be wrong!!
I find that the floating bridge is one of the worst offenders if it isn't seated right . I shine a light under the bridge and see where the high spot is and sand till it seats properly and no light passes thru .
HI there I have a mandolin and works fine accept for when my hand is on a higher fret usually in the middle on the neck it play any chords it buzzes or muffles to the point where i cant do anything any suggestions
My G string will buzz sometimes when I strum hard playing chords down in the first position. At first I thought the 2 strings were hitting each other, but I don't think that's it.
You'll have to be more specific. Feel free to contact me via email or a phone call with a more detailed description. My contact info is on the Ratliff Mandolins web site. I'll be happy to help if I can............
I got a tear drop. Rover mandolin and. I put new strings on it. And it seams like on the seventh fret. It has a buzzing and I adjusted my action up thinking it was set to low from the previously owner but still buzzing. Can you throw me a few pointers to how to. Tackle this project and set the intimations ?? Thanks and I love your videos. They are very helpful. God bless
My favorite poem about a buzz caused by two things almost touching is “Ode on a Grecian Urn.” Great video. Thanks.
A+ awesome video. I am doing my best to shape-up my grandfather’s mandolin, and see how many things can be easily overlooked.
Missed this one on initial release....glad I came across it.
