I have a Rover mandolin I found by a dumpster. It started twanging about a month ago. Thanks to this video, I found out that my little mandolin doesn’t even have felt under the strings! Still, a quick adjustment and the twanging is gone.
Thanksso much for this video Ben. I havee a mandolin put away i havent touched in 4 years cuz my tailpiece fell off randomly from just strumming practice n never knew if it cme back on. Now that I know it does I'm defently gonna put it back on tonight n eventually start practicing again. :)
I think self adhesive velcro works better because the self adhesive means it doesn;t get dragged around. Most material ends up getting dragged with the strings so I put self adhesive velcro UNDER the strins and you could also put it under the front of the top as well I dare say.

Personally i place pieces of leather between the strings below the bridge to fix buzzing it works very well
I've been using a cork pad to fix the buzz :)
Thank you! Great video :)
Thankyou!!
What do you put under the strings? Cotton?
That would work, or leather or felt.
