Agreed, this game in particular kind of calls out for it. Incandescents kind of just... fade... over time, and even new ones never look quite as bright as our memories. 😋
This upgrade should keep it looking crisp and more "new" for years to come, that's for sure.

I'd probably have gone for warm white (or even yellow/amber?) LEDs on the hair. The cold white looks a bit over the top, I think.

👍 awesome Bride makeover. I got the Bride of Pinbot too, I added some tech mods to add more excitement. Pinsound Shaker motor triggers at rocket ramp shots, wheel spins and head turns. I installed pinsound soundtrack "you spin my head right round" my son's suggestion 😂

This game came out amazing. It's awesome how the pinball community has a way to suggest lighting and ring kits. I don't think I would have even thought of putting gray rings on. But it really does go well with the rest of the game. The lights look great too. Of course your repairs and touchup work is outstanding. Thanks for making the series of videos. Thanks for this - I’ve really enjoyed watching this restoration. I own a Bride of Pinbot table myself, so I’ve been through much the same about 15 years ago when I got it - playfield touch-ups, a few mechanical fixes. This year it needed some electronic fixes to the sound board and display driver. Glad to see another example getting the care it needed!

The LED swap for some machines makes the machine stand out more in my opinion. For this one its especially true. In the end for some of the more rare machines with hard to find power supplys they can be a life saver for those transformers. The colors are more rich in tone for the insersts and I love those rotating LEDs for the pop bumpers. They give it more of a "space" feel. For some of the lights that strobe they seem to have a more of a snap flash than a traditional bulb. Awesome job guys. Keep up the great content!

Game looks great I watch the repair to the head mech and was just amazed by the working parts to line up and turn the head.
One switch out of position and the whole thing goes to hell.
You said that you worked on the AMF pinsetter but do you know that 82-70 has about 50-70 micro switches on the mach and then if it has pinspotters scoring on it add about 20 more switches.
That why I love the EM machines as they are fairly easy to troubleshoot and repair.

I was wondering if it is just me, but the background music does not seems to terminate when the ball goes down / game is over, e.g. at 00:26:38. A side comment. When changing to LED bulbs, they may be more responsive than desired, depending on the application. One way around this is adding some electrolytic capacitors. Since you don't have the lingering glow of the filaments, you can simulate it a bit by making the power stay on for a tad longer. That might increase the turn-on time, but it slows it as it turns off. Just a thought.

My 2 pet peeves with LEDs are not colour. One thing is that they have a narrower beam so they're less useful for GI (you can see the hot spots in the backglass) and the other is that they don't fade in and out like incandescents so every flash becomes a hard strobe instead of a gentle flash. Both of these would be possible to fix but it would make the LEDs more expensive to manufacture.
