As a studying forensic investigator. I’ve dove deep into Selena’s case.. Lemme tell you the media really sensationalized that ring. Even her own biographical movie. My personal theory is that Selena did not take off the ring as a signal of their friendship ending. I think Selena actually took off the ring AFTER being shot. She took off the ring mid run to safety and clutched it in her hand to plant evidence for police to find to trace back to Yolanda. Just in case she didn’t make it to the motel lobby to tell someone who shot her. Cause the fact is Selena was on the verge of passing out in the middle of her run to safety. She actually stumbled once and almost fell to the ground outside where she woulda laid dead. But she mustard enough strength to keep running and make it inside the lobby to yell “Help me I’ve been shot! Yolanda Room 158.” Immediately after that she collapsed to the floor and never regained consciousness. The ring was later found in the ambulance. That’s when the media started their theories about the ring. How Selena taking off the ring set Yolanda off and was the cause of the shooting.. but I don’t think so. I really think Selena was smart enough to plant evidence for forensic investigators to find. Cause ALSO she dropped her belongings right outside Yolanda’s door too. She left a trail of of her belongings. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I think she was leaving a forensic print on purpose to tell the story of what Yolanda did

Selena's death is a terribly sad story. She was so, so young. She had an amazing voice. Yolanda’s behavior at the Days Inn and her trial should remind everyone of Yolanda’s guilt in Selena’s murder. It was premeditated, calculated, and intentional. She should not be given parole in 2025.

Selena dropped the briefcase she was holding in her left hand on the grass right outside the room, then her car keys, which she was holding in her right hand- and cellphone (that was probably clipped to her bag), followed by her purse in the parking lot by the pool. She was also holding the egg ring in her right hand that she never got to hand back to Yolanda in the room. That leads me to believe Selena abruptly decided to leave the room- probably after seeing Yolanda still had the gun she had shown her weeks earlier. From all I’ve read it looks like Yolanda picked up the gun and threatened to kill herself in a final attempt to gain empathy from Selena, but Selena was done with her by that point and decided to leave- that probably pissed Yolanda off and when Selena turned, she took the gun from her head and decided to shot Selena instead. Yolanda still keeps saying to this day that it was an accident. During the trial, the prosecution pointed out that there's no way this was an accident. For one thing, Yolanda's behavior after shooting Selena is weird. If she really had accidentally shot Selena, she wouldn't have been chasing after her calling her a bi*ch. She herself would've been calling for help. Her chasing Selena and trying to leave with the gun really didn't look good. Also, no remorse at all. To me, it seems like Yolanda only got upset when there was no escaping and she got caught. Plus, Yolanda was a registered nurse, so she should've been doing everything to help until medics arrived. Doctors said that if the bullet had been a few millimeters above or under where she was shot she would’ve probably survived because it wouldn’t have hit the major artery to her heart. My guess is that since Yolanda was a nurse, she probably knew exactly where to shoot and kill Selena. They also brought in a gun expert and said that the gun couldn't have gone off unless someone purposefully pulled the trigger. Basically, it was no accident.

Yolanda actually tried killing Selena a few times before March 31st. I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video. March 14th March 27th March 30th March 31st 1. Yolanda bought a gun on March 11th but it wasn't until March 14th when Selena arrived back in Corpus Christi that Yolanda got her alone and showed the gun to Selena. Selena told her to get rid of it. Yolanda returned the gun the day after. 2. March 27th, she repurchased the gun and attempted to get Selena alone after her trip back from Tennessee. Fortunately, fans knew of Selena's arrival and mobbed her, causing there to be too many witnesses for Yoloca to shoot Sel. 3. March 29th, Yolanda calls Dr. Martinez and tells him she's been raped. This was meant to be an alibi. March 30th, Selena gets a call from Yolanda and tells her she's been raped. Selena goes to the motel with Chris to see Yolanda and get the documents. Yolanda didn't give all the documents so Sel has to go back. This fourth time would be the last and final time, ending in Yolanda unfortunately murdering our Reina of Cumbia and Tejano music.

Selena dropped the briefcase she was holding in her left hand on the grass right outside the room, then her car keys, which she was holding in her right hand- and cellphone (that was probably clipped to her bag), followed by her purse in the parking lot by the pool. She was also holding the egg ring in her right hand that she never got to hand back to Yolanda in the room. That leads me to believe Selena abruptly decided to leave the room- probably after seeing Yolanda still had the gun she had shown her weeks earlier. From all I’ve read it looks like Yolanda picked up the gun and threatened to kill herself in a final attempt to gain empathy from Selena, but Selena was done with her by that point and decided to leave- that probably pissed Yolanda off and when Selena turned, she took the gun from her head and decided to shot Selena instead. Ugh- How cowardly of Yolanda to wait until Selena had her back to her, and her hands full to shoot her in cold blood! 🤦🏻♂️🤬😭

Yolanda still keeps saying to this day that it was an accident. During the trial, the prosecution pointed out that there's no way this was an accident. For one thing, Yolanda's behavior after shooting Selena is weird. If she really had accidentally shot Selena, she wouldn't have been chasing after her calling her a bi*ch. She herself would've been calling for help. Her chasing Selena and trying to leave with the gun really didn't look good. Also, no remorse at all. To me, it seems like Yolanda only got upset when there was no escaping and she got caught. Plus, Yolanda was a registered nurse, so she should've been doing everything to help until medics arrived. Doctors said that if the bullet had been a few millimeters above or under where she was shot she would’ve probably survived because it wouldn’t have hit the major artery to her heart. My guess is that since Yolanda was a nurse, she probably knew exactly where to shoot and kill Selena. They also brought in a gun expert and said that the gun couldn't have gone off unless someone purposefully pulled the trigger. Basically, it was no accident.

Yolanda’s actions made absolutely no sense. She was angry over being fired and kicked out of Selena’s circle. But she brought it upon herself. Had she not been shady towards everyone and stealing , had she treated the Quintanilla family with the same kindness they showed her, Yolanda could’ve had the happy ending she clearly wanted and she’d probably still be a really good friend of Selena to this day.

Sadly there are a lot of things wrong with her death. First of all, her father and manager Abraham should have screened everyone working for Selena. What qualifications did Yolanda have to be a fan club president? Secondly, after the whole fraud situation was discovered, why didn’t Abraham hire her a bodyguard? He stated that he warned Chris and Selena that Yolanda was “dangerous.” Ok if you knew that, then why not protect your daughter? She shouldn’t be going ANYWHERE alone! 2. March 27th, she repurchased the gun and attempted to get Selena alone after her trip back from Tennessee. Fortunately, fans knew of Selena's arrival and mobbed her, causing there to be too many witnesses for Yoloca to shoot Sel.
3. March 29th, Yolanda calls Dr. Martinez and tells him she's been raped. This was meant to be an alibi. March 30th, Selena gets a call from Yolanda and tells her she's been raped. Selena goes to the motel with Chris to see Yolanda and get the documents.
Yolanda didn't give all the documents so Sel has to go back. This fourth time would be the last and final time, ending in Yolanda unfortunately murdering our Reina of Cumbia and Tejano music.
