Finally getting some time to edit the last few videos, hopefully a little progress this week. Unfortunately, I only have pictures for the early work, no video...it was a winter teardown in the uninsulated garage with a construction heater roaring away. May be able to do a bit of a voiceover to some of it, though.
Did you have any issues installing the glass (and glass regulator) with the doors installed on the hinge instead of laying horizontal on a stand? I have seen it done both ways...curious before I install mine. Thanks again!
The STL file for the version I printed is uploaded to a wider "3D Prints" thread on the IH8Mud forum. It would need a few tweaks if one wanted the "no-drill" option, but minor: forum.ih8mud.com/threads/3d-print-and-cad-file-repository-40-series.1281295/post-14437293
It's all wrapped up, but I do still need to edit the final video wrapping up the last-last bits of door assembly. Got tied up with other work in the summertime, but back to some editing with the snow on the ground here now.
I bought door hinge bushings and pins from CoolCruisers. The bushings did not come even close to fitting (too big) my OEM door hinges. Did you have any issues? Thanks!
These videos are a great resource. Thanks for taking the time.
Glad they help, hopefully they can keep a few more on the road.
What a great build video series. Please post the rest of the project (and #1 thru 19)!

Waiting for your next 👏🏻
1977 is the changeover year for the 3-hole, door-mounted side mirrors

I pulled the glass out with the doors on the bench, but reinstalled it with the doors hung back on the body. No real issues doing it after hanging.
I like the defender mirrors look. Will you be providing any info on the adapter plates you printed for this?

How goes the build now. So clean, it's worth alot.

Mine were snug but no issues. I think my pins and bushings were from Specter/SOR, though. They worked on the windshield hinges as well.
why have you stoped posting
Soak them down with dish soap
That definitely helps to get the new gaskets to close until they "seat" and form a bit to the body.
