Yes, the knob pots are sealed ... So I just raised the knobs enough to get the straw under it. Then you can feel it release. After twists multiple times. But I only use CRC-QD electronics cleaner. It is Fabulous...E.L.K.
MG chemicals contact cleaner and lubricant. If the pots weren't sealed I would've used it on those as well, I'm sure if one were to spray a small amount on the base of the shaft it might work it's way inside.
I may have a later version of this mixer; it seems that my pots are glued on. I tried some specialized prying tools (for phones and the like) and mine won't budge. It is very useful to know that the switches aren't sealed though, I think I will just drench them in Deoxit and it should work its way down. I picked up a very clean one of these for $40 and the some of the switches are a little dodgy, probably just natural oxidization on a 20 year old piece of equipment.
I think it unplugs from the chassis. It's been a while so I'm not 100% on that. I didn't need to disconnect it to get to the top of the board so I just left it hooked up.

How did you get the the wire for the lamp off? It’s the only thing on mine that’s attached to the outer case.
