Unimatic in HD - first pass with the T2i

- (Post posting: Well, it appears YT didn't process the garbage from iMovie as HD, which doesn't surprise me considering the copy is iMovie '08. Next step: FCP or FCE).
Picked up the Canon T2i on Friday and shot some photos and film this afternoon.
First pass at photos - great shooting camera. Huge change from the used and beaten Canon Power Shot, as well as from an old school film SLR, the Pentax ME Super. Looking forward to a range of new lenses in the next few months.
First pass at Film: this is a glimpse of what it can do with the stock lens, shaky camera work, poor lighting, and novice experience at best. Overall, not bad for a first try! I love the 24p with the Unimatic. While you don't get to see the harsh brutality of the 1140 RPM, the overall presence that is captured at 24p is almost cinema-esque, or relaxing in a funny sort of way. I need to remember to keep the lens clean after each shot :D
Shot at 1920/24p with the crappy kit Canon 18-55 lens (how I miss a prime!).
As a first try, it can only get better from here. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
How beautiful it is to watch this video. The way agitation brings the clothes near it to wash. It's amazing ❤
Look at that roll over action! That’s a real washer & the real deal there !
Spun The fast really did
I will binge watch this for hours
Incredible machine! And the control panel is a work of art!
We had a Rapidry 1000 Frigidaire that had an 1100 rpm spin also. I had to peel the clothes off of the side of the spin basket, but they only took 20 minutes in the Frigidaire dryer to dry them.
Pass of The unimatic washer
Now ,this is a real washing machine! If they made this today I would buy one!
I've never seen that washer machine before, it's so extrange for me cuz the afitator stick jumped up and normally it turns circularly to the left and turns to the right for many times, nevertheless I believe that washer machine is so beautiful in fact.
Phenomenal Washer they just don’t make anything like this anymore!
Not even close
When it start’s the spin cycle I like when does that sound
Freakin' awesome! It's spinning so fast it's creating a time portal!!😆

Yeah and it also old
@genmac1 It really depends on what you are going for. I'm still experimenting with different FSPs while filming washers. I may post a video comparing the different choices to show what options are out there as I started to play with it at the end of shooting for this short test.

The only thing that can do a better job is one of the later models.
In the 1960s and 1970s, dealers had hand-cranked mechanisms on display so customers could watch the works in action.
That was a great time for growing up.
How mush speed he that washer is spinning at 670 mph
It spins at 1,140 RPM
Fiquei impressionado com a velocidade que ela drena a água 😱🔝👏

One of greatest washers ever made.
One of the most misunderstood and underrated laundry cleaning systems ever. These old Frigidaire washers would rival if not beat any washer made today. They worked sort of like an ultrasonic cleaner and did not put excessive stress on delicate fabrics. We had one and it served us well.

I once read an article that said the Frigidaire washer had the most efficient washing systems in the industry.

That thing sure spun fast really did a good job of getting most of the soap water out when it refilled it hardly had any soap. We had one of these new HE machines it would leave soap in everything and the cloths were sloppy wet would not spin it. I got rid of it and got a speed queen it works great.
blastman8888 speed Queen builds decent equipment . My dads mom had one of those Old Frigidaire washers just. Like that one .

Is the drum made of some sort of STONE? Seems like it's extremely heavy
This washer is absolutely great. I like it’s performance and how it agitated the washing.
And the spin cycle ist gorgeous.
How fast is the spin, wtf it seems really obnoxiously fast
@@ezecarol11 Around 1100 RPM, faster than today's junk.
WTF THE SASHER IS SPINNING LIKE 38388 RPM
I THINK THE WASHER IS VERY FAST
Yes si
Another thing, Why is the adgitator/Jet-cone Jumping when it is slowing down for the spin?

Awesome cycle , perfect sound too !! That tub almost looks white too , a lot of speckling on it ?
This is one of the only old school washers that I like, mainly due to the way it washes.
Agreed I love these machines, especially the later 60's ones with the blue pulsator. Then my other favorites are the very late 50's and early 60's Kenmore Eighty machines
This is an awesome machine!

Alexander James deal likes washing machine
BOY did these thing clean the cloths. I specifically remember our neighbors machine and when it was in spin cycle, for the last two minutes or so it would shift gears and go into a ultra high speed spins.
These were no nonsense machines. They filled fast. Washed well. Rinsed real well. Spun fast. Need to get machines like this back again.
great sounds from a frumpy agitator... love the water feed...
2:18 is the unimatic adding more water, or is it recirculating water that's in the tub?
Have to say the wash looks good. look how the clothes are drawn to the centre and roll. bet its pretty good.
These were known as some of the best cleaning machines back when they were still being produced.
At 2:50 Now that's a Fast spinning Cycle I wonder from what Year this Washer is
The 1950s
1956
The middle part is really cool. I don’t know what it does, but I watched this kind of video since I was six years old. It just kind of pushes up and down without the washer even spinning, modify the washer spin for just like I don’t know two seconds in the middle part started going. Can anyone tell me what the middle part does?
it pulses up and down as you can see and the pulsing causes the clothes to turn over and the "ring" making the waves in the water that's the lint chaser
and that's what I think it does I bet you can find something somewhere to tell you what it does
@@tyronlemons5203 ok ty
an interesting concept in washing
What is it that gives these machines the ability to pump out the water so fast. It amazes me. The Roller-Matic and the 1-18 never pumped the water out this fast.
Some of these didn't have an outer tub. They used the body of the machine to hold the water.

What about 2019?
What the fuk I've never seen an agitator I go up and down like that 😂
Una pregunta, ¿A cuántas revoluciones por minuto va?
1140 rpm
So cool!
great rollover....
This is the BEST top loader! Why we dont see this again, can only a republicon could answer!
Love your videos
2:30 this washer got a cool start up on the spin
They should bring these old machines that is operated like that, but much of a modern design and digital
Old fashioned knobs and dials and push buttons are better overall.
@@patcola7335 Yes agreed. Digital shit is prone to permanent malfunction and is overrated, addictive and radioactive and is now a societal expectation that people go mentally insane over if it's not followed.
The agitator kinda looks like a Federal Signal model 5 siren AKA:The jumping model 5 siren.
This is the machine only a fool would love, yes? I never cease to be stunned at how fast they dump their water and how fast they spin. Modern toploaders could take a lesson from this.
Sound so crazy
Those are my favorite washers t2i
How fast spin in rpms?
I’d like when it goes to spin there’s a sound and it goes like Wawa wow
That’s just a washer kind of going out of balance
the sound just got funnier and funnier to me
how well does this machine clean compared to a traditional top loader?
Jon Homrich
These machines washed very well .
it is considered the most through washing action to move the water through the clothes without abrading them the way an agitator or wash plate washer does.
2:52 I love that sound :D
Y
My favorite washing machine
Where I get a wash machine like this???? 🤔
oddly enough i find this sound very relaxing
Me too
Why does the agitator bounce
it looks cool :D

what kind of washing machine is that I've never seen these in stores
Flamingwolf 185
this particular machine is called a unimatic they were made through the 1960's and Frigidaire later developed a rollermatic which was used up through 1979 when they seized production of these machines. It is considered to be the most through cleaning system without abrading the clothes the way a standard agitator or wash plate machine does.
It's a fridgidare
Balance it out pretty good
What year is your Unimatic? Would be it around a 1955?
This washer is a 1956 model. In 1955 they started changing the control panel designs up every year.
These washing machines are my childhood
5:12 When the fan turns on
Vibration washers are better like this one, but that frapping/humping sounds is rather a bad sound to hear when if ones mine is dirty lol.
*****, lolz Okies.
I take to my home the unimatic washer
that sound is too funny.
it's also very popular on internet videos...
It would be cool to own one of these Frigidaire washers.
Definitely but Certainly very difficult I never got to see one as a Kid
Eu tenho uma dessa
Love those "Thumpers"!
THE WASHER LOOKS CRAZY
Es genial esta lavadora.
Get out spam bot
The way that agitator goes up and down as the drum solos down it kind of reminds me of a fishing rod realer
2:30 Spin = 1140 RPM
As fast as a LG HE top load washer.

I have never seen one of these, it agitated by bouncing up and down?

Washing Maching is so cool!
How many washers do you own?
Why does it add water wil agitat
Dose this thing have an outer tub?
most of these washers did not have an outer tub. on this model the cabinet served as the outer tub and only the inner tub held water. The models with a perforated tub used an inner and outer tub like any modern washer.
GarageDoorGuy89 Thanks
it has outer tub ('not the cabinet')
Yes, but in most other washers the outer tub is slightly larger than the inner tub and is held by suspension and shock absorbers, while in the case of every Frigidaire washer that featured an inner tub with no holes, it's a steel structure that is held by the cabinet and is significantly larger than the inner tub, but only the inner tub holds water, wich exits through holes in the top of the drum during the spin drain cycle, i think this was done to save water and it's no longer a thing because front load washers are a thing now and one of the same capacity wastes even less water than this thing, i used to have a washer that is like that but with a perforated tub so it wasted more water instead of saving lol
@@Wind-nj5xz thanks

I would love to have this machine.
I am jealous of your washers, although I do have the same Maytag Neptune. I'll preserve her, but maybe one day get a sexy unimatic too :)
