Tanner - God Bless your grandmother! How sweet you made her a cup. I am sure she will use it & treasure it for many years to come. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Why didn't I know about outdoor vinyl??? I've tried iron-on glitter which looks so awesome but lasts a second. Got my outdoor vinyl order and used your code!! Thank you!! I learn so much from you!!! Thank you so much!! Spoil your Mawmaw!!!
Thanks, Tanner for the short concise videos. I have some great vinyl that I got from a company other than Cricut and it works well for windows and tumblers. I live in an apartment building and wanted to put our names on the hallway door. I tried this several times but the vinyl would not stick to the door which has a wood grain texture but isn’t wood. Any ideas of what else to try?
Thank you for the great video...well explained. Do you have a video where you design something on the canvas, hit make it & show us step by step all the way to ironing it on? I would love to see the whole process...Tks in advance
Tanner I was interested in your advice to sell the decal to customers to put on themselves. Cricut's angle policy specifically states that this is not allowed. I would want someone to get into bother & I think it's a shame they have that clause. Love your tutorials:) :) you have great energy on camera :)
Hello! I know this is an old video post but I have a question about image application onto a taper cup similar to the one you're using here. I do mostly 30-32oz cups that taper down slightly. I recently tried to figure out how to put a flag image onto the cup without the left and right side curving up instead of going straight across the cup as it should. I cannot be "curved" in design space and I don't know how else to manipulate such an image so it looks straight. Thanks so much for your detailed videos!!
@@MakersGonnaLearn it's the American flag. (I don't know how to add a picture to this message.) I was trying to do a two-tone wood grain hand painted tumbler with the flag. I got the image from DS but I can't edit a curve on it to make it apply straight on the tapered tumbler.
Hi!! Is there any instance in which I should sand the newly acquired tumbler (not treated in any way) prior to adding the vinyl? I have a tumbler that seems to have a pink sort of matte metallic coating... thanks!!
Hi I’m new to the cricut world. I just made a stainless steel tumbler do I have to seal it with anything if I’m just hand washing the cup? I’m just confused if every cup I make has to be sealed or just applied like you did in video.
There are a lot of factors that go into why your transfer tape may not be sticking to your vinyl. In order to help you properly, we're going to need more information :)
@@MakersGonnaLearn I did exactly as you said in this video I watched other videos and they said the same thing... I’m using shimmer permanent adhesive vinyl to put on a Tumblr I think I need to use stronger transfer tape
Your plastic tumbler may not be clean, your transfer tape might be too sticky, you may not have burnished enough, you may be trying to pull UP on your transfer tape instead of pulling BACK. There are lots of reasons why it may not be adhering.
I bought a permanent vinyl, attached it to clear contact paper and it wouldn’t stick to the stainless cup. It attached to paper, so I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. 😢 and 🙄
Spray paint does not stick well to any slick surface, and because of that, pretty much any transfer tape will peel the paint right off when transferring so we do not recommend that. You can find pre-colored tumblers for less than $10 at Walmart
We have never had any bubbles :) BUT, we always clean our tumblers with alcohol to remove any dirt or debris that might be on the cup. This helps the vinyl to stick. Your "bubbles" could just be small particles of dust or dirt that were not removed before applying the vinyl.
Thanks for the video! I haven't worked with any vinyl yet and want to start making tumblers. Can I spray with polyurethane to seal it so it is dishwasher safe? Ive seen epoxy and modgepodge but don't really have the space to work with the mess.
The spray isn't marketed as dishwasher safe, but it is a hard-drying spray sealer. We can't recommend it if you're looking for the type of seal that the Dishwasher safe mod podge offers, but it will still seal well.
Tanner, your knack for doing tutorials is absolutely phenomenal ! 💯🅰️➕➕➕

Nice tutorial...thank you ...is permanent adhesive backed vinyl the same as the premium outdoor vinyl ?

Would using epoxy on it have it stay longer?

What vinyl do I use for plastic cups? I want to start selling and marketing. Can you help me please? Have a blessed day
We use Oracal 561 from 651vinyl.com: www.651vinyl.com/home.php . It's perfect for plastic cups. You have a blessed day as well :)
I uses my Cricut for the first time and I can't get decal to come off on my mug! What.am I doing wrong?

I need to know about vinyl that the back looks like transfer tape
enjoyed, thank you
i tried to apply on plastic and alumin but it doesnt work! is my vinyl too cheap?
How do you know what size to make for tumblers
The decals usually need to stay around 3"
Hi!! Is there any instance in which I should sand the newly acquired tumbler (not treated in any way) prior to adding the vinyl? I have a tumbler that seems to have a pink sort of matte metallic coating... thanks!!
We have never needed to sand ours for any reason. Hope this helps!
I have a sheet that says only Vinyl from Cricut and strong transfer tape.. it will works for colour stainless steel water bottles ???
yes, but do not use the stronggrip transfer tape. get some less strong, we LOVE this kind: Masking Paper Transfer Tape: amzn.to/3bB57jJ
Hi I’m new to the cricut world. I just made a stainless steel tumbler do I have to seal it with anything if I’m just hand washing the cup? I’m just confused if every cup I make has to be sealed or just applied like you did in video.
If you are always going to quickly hand wash it should be okay! But if you want to seal it, we recommend using Minwax Polycrylic: amzn.to/2KzC588
I'm putting sayings on a glass coffee cup
I just dont understand why cant I get the vinyl to stick to the transfer tape I have scraped and scraped.... this is frustrating

Why does my vinyl not remove from the transfer tape when I put on a plastic tumbler after I barnish it?
Your plastic tumbler may not be clean, your transfer tape might be too sticky, you may not have burnished enough, you may be trying to pull UP on your transfer tape instead of pulling BACK. There are lots of reasons why it may not be adhering.
can you put vinyl decals on a plastic type tumbler

same!
What's the model on this Cricut Maker? The link is broken.
Is there a way to make vinyl dishwasher safe?
Use dishwasher safe mod-podge :)
Hi Tanner. What transfer tape do you use?
What about permanent vinyl ? Will that work ?
How do you apply vinal to spray paint tumblers
Spray paint does not stick well to any slick surface, and because of that, pretty much any transfer tape will peel the paint right off when transferring so we do not recommend that. You can find pre-colored tumblers for less than $10 at Walmart
As soon as you said not dishwasher safe I’m out 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to make a wine glass with just vinyl..Do I have to epoxy it so it dont come off in water?
No just handwash only
How do you prevent bubbles?
We have never had any bubbles :) BUT, we always clean our tumblers with alcohol to remove any dirt or debris that might be on the cup. This helps the vinyl to stick. Your "bubbles" could just be small particles of dust or dirt that were not removed before applying the vinyl.
Did you say outdoor vinyl?
It doesn't really matter what kind you use, any good brand adhesive vinyl will do great :)
Can you use removable vinyl on a cup?
Yes, you can :) We recommend to sea it, though! Here's a video on how to do it: th-cam.com/video/4-A5hWiEADg/w-d-xo.html
Would the oracal 651 ok to use on projects like these?
Dishwasher safe?
it is if you seal it with Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge: amzn.to/354190H
What brand cup is that?
Good vinyl safe dishwasher.?

Hello where would I get a good deal on circuit machine and where do you get your vinyl
I got it in Cricut.com :) You can use our code MGL10 for 10% discount

I would never sell a product with Cricut vinyl...it’s not the best no way no how. Get some 651 Oracle Vinyl
What this video and you will not be using Oracal in my opinion. New Cricut paper is way better. th-cam.com/video/Me7vfw3iylA/w-d-xo.html
Oracal 651 is THE vinyl to use!!!! Been doing vinyl for 5+ years.....I will ONLY use 651.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Gee, I wonder if he's paid to promote Cricut products. Lol
You said MOIST
How many times can you say Cricut? This was a commercial.
Is there just no easy way to make a single color tumbler? I don’t need to be spending hundreds of dollars on fancy tools.
Cricut vinyl sucks!
