I genuinely prefered facing the watermonster. Very escapable. All you needed was a dry spot and you had all the time in the world to figure things out.
I used to play this thing on my mom's potato pc(dual core pentium, integrated graphics, 1gb ram) It barely run on the lowest setting 😂😂. Kinda refreshing to see it in better graphic quality tho
So, I saw that the quitouts helped with stuff like reload warps and other stuff, but what's the purpose behind the ones like in Entrance to Cistern (13:09)? I wanna think they skip those little slow periods with the inner dialogue, but I'm really new to this, so I didn't know for sure haha
Yep you're right, It's purely to skip the dialogue there. If I do multiple quitouts in a row at some part in the run it's because I wanna skip the dialogue. Dialogue skipping saves over a minute in total in the whole run so it's not necessary when starting out
@@cakeri Cool cool, I'm guessing you'd need like a quitout for each line of dialogue you need to skip? Also speaking of starting out, which would be the best category to start with? :P
@@daphonea Yeah it's for each line on the screen. This category is the best to start out with. Since you're allowed to Quitout you can create safety saves where ever you'd like (you probably wanna do it before hard tricks) Skyreon has a great beginners tutorial for Any% Quitouts: th-cam.com/video/TwJMlLQlO_4/w-d-xo.html
Great run! I'm attempting one of my own, although it's a custom story (Amadeus) Also, could you say something about the glitch at 7:05? Sometimes objects can make you move and at other times they just bounce off. Any idea as to what affects this?
When objects collides with you and pushes you it means that "slippery physics" is activated. This allows us to tos objects towards us or drop objects above us when we're close to a wall and we get to clip through. Slippery physics is a semi rare thing you can get when loading into a map in the normal game. However, if you right click on the Amnesia.exe that you run the game on and go into Properties -> Compatibility, then run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7 you have slippery physics 100% of the time. Most people select Windows 7, the earlier options have caused lag so Win 7 I recommend.
@@cakeri wow, surely going to try this, thanks! check out Amadeus if you haven't, I think it rivals the original game in some aspects it's a pretty polished mod
Do you have any tips or setups to make Clipping Boxes (Cellar Archives, Storage, or usfull in Rafinerry which you did not do because you use the more difficult rout) however repetitive? I came back to Speedrun Amnesi after a few years and am in the process of learning new techniques but I can't understand how to make it work.
Every map has a PlayerStartArea1, and when you load in through the "load game" menu you will stand at PlayerStartArea1 for 1 frame. PlayerStartArea1 is usually next to the starting door of that area so it's useful for backtracking. During the loading screen when you've loaded up the save through "load game" you just hold down left click and look at the cardinal direction of the door. So basically you can only look North, East, South, West, it all depends on where the door at PlayerStartArea1 is. This glitch is not consistent when you launch it through steam, however, if you go into your steam folder where Amnesia is installed you can see "Amnesia_NoSteam.exe". If you launch Amnesia through that the glitch is 100% consistent.
If you're in a flashback and you do a save & quit then reload the save you will skip one line of dialogue in the flashback. So if a flashback has 4 sentences/lines you will have to reload 4 times to skip them all. The reason why we wanna do it is because we move super slow in flashbacks and we want to get rid of the slowdown asap.
I suppose he's skipping dialogues this way (your character is way slower within it), also once he bugged a character to be leaned in order to obtain a key
Getting all the orb pieces allows the grunts to spawn and capture you in Chancel ( 22:08 ) And after that you go all the way to Chancel again and enter Inner Sanctum If you try to enter the Inner Sactum before being captured the game will crash
All I can imagine is Alexander's thoughts, watching Daniel shmoving through the castle repeatedly phasing in and out of reality.
Just finished the game for the 1st time (casual player), watching this makes me feel like a revenge for all the scary shit ive been through
How did you pass the dungeon?
@@WeirdUnfunnyGuy i passed it with my trousers full of piss. c:
@@WeirdUnfunnyGuyLmao why are you on every horror video i watch
This is "Amnesia if Daniel was a parkour expert"
@Ken Ne The Gatherers: I fear no man, but the one with the lantern, it scares me.
At least he remembered those sick parkour skills.
@@thatsicklypup The amnesia portion wasn't strong enough to erase muscle memories.
Lol
Alexander: Daniel? is that you? what are you doing?!
*seeing Daniel clip trough a wall*
Sees a monster
Me: runs
Speed runners: here, have a box
Grunt looking around: "HE'S IN THE WALLS... HE'S IN THE F*CKING WALLS!!!"
Man, so much has changed since I stopped speedrunning. I can't wrap my head around quit outs and a lot of these new tricks I see
That run was so much fun to watch! Congratz Cakeri! :D
I just love the idea of boosting through a torture chamber lmao
You made those grunts and brutes look like fools
The water monster is the most terrifying monster in the game
I genuinely prefered facing the watermonster. Very escapable. All you needed was a dry spot and you had all the time in the world to figure things out.
Nah, you cannot even see it, for me visuals are still a key Factor in terms of Terror and fear, they just mess with your Imagination.
Disagree, I definitely think the Servant Brute is the scariest, getting chased by the Kaernk was intense but it was extremely easy to avoid
If only horror game were still like this...

Huge GZ on the sub 21! The Swede delivers again PeepoSweden
Thank rU :)
The thing about Amnesia is that it has to make you feel scared. Doing it so quickly takes away all the fun
It's a lot of fun in a different way. I've played this game casually many times and I still enjoy it casually despite speedrunning it for years.

Look at the comments for this video, I talked about how to enable slippery physics with WowFan991. That's the first step.

Ye more like glitch run.. got a little disappointed, thought he would actually play the game, but yes just reloading and glitching..
Glitchless speedruns exists too for Amnesia
This isn’t a speed run
