Farfalla was awesome in the Bane Trilogy..He didnt go out like a punk. He definitely battled to the gruesome end. That last light sabre duel on Tython was insane.
Agreed sure farfalla design was odd but his character was great and dueling Bane was an incredible lightsaber fight
@@AndreNitroX from the bane novelization i had know idea he was ha ve a Bothan! They speak abot his huge canopie bed that was made of rocher tree and eash post was carved dor a significant part of his life.

Legends is mostly a more superior source of lore in the expanded universe compared to canon, but by the force there was a lot of stupid things that should have never happened, though I still loved it all.

You haven't seen much yet.......just look at the older Star Wars Marvel comics......they're trippy as all hell.
This guy is essentially a perfect example of "never judge a book by its cover". He may look like something out of a Narnia book and his personality may be tiring but at heart, he was a true guardian of the light side. Turning down the position of Supreme Chancellor to serve and protect the helpless from the Sith.

Even if he failed to kill Bane and Zannah he still was instrumental in the deaths of several powerful Dark Lords like Kopecz, Githany, and Skere Kaan.
Yeah he was a great and complex character with that sort of charm like a benevolent Count Dooku (Especially because of the fact that his lightsaber style was said to be similar to Makashi). Honestly it was hard not to root for both the Jedi and Sith in the Rule of Two book.
Exactly both Bane and farfalla were interesting characters and I didn’t want either one to die in their duel. But....

What a coincidence, 2 days ago I finished the second book of the Bane trilogy, and I think Farfalla was a great Jedi, even tough truly eccentric. He was good mannered and polite. I don’t remember exactly how, but I think the idea of Farfalla being vane and arrogant actually came from what Hoth thought of Farfalla. Farfalla actually appeared to me as a calmed and wise Jedi, mindful of his feelings and wishing the best for the Galaxy. He denied being the Chancellor and agreed with Chancellor Valorum in demilitarizing the Jedi (two clear acts in which he denied power for himself). And also, we went down bravely fighting Bane. Until he was disarmed and decapitated by Darth Bane, he never gave up.

A bit of a gruesome detail that was omitted in this video is that Darth Bane killed Farfalla by DECAPITATING HIM.
Yes.. Bane cut off his head. Also in that time Bane was already using his curved hilt lightsaber but instead of using a Makashi, he was an user of Djem so (like Anakin)

I believe that one of Farfalla's powers was actually how frivolous and eccentric he could get, imagine through a losing battle comes his flagship, even if it would make anyone laugh, giggle or snicker at such sight, it is still evoking positive emotions much like a pierce ray of light through darkness! One could say almost invigorating one's morale? Turning a losing situation into a victory through inspiring one's troops. I don't see it as superficial, very odd indeed but might be a clever tactic!?

Lord Hoth may have done a lot of good, but in the end, he was a bit of a relic when it comes to ideals and tactics.
Yeah, but he was the only thing keeping them an Independent force. When they went under the Republic they gave up their ships their numbers and a lot of their more combative force powers and combat styles. The Jedi were set for their downfall.
The most fabulous of Jedi! And why shouldnt the Jedi of old have had a few very odd ones, would be unfair if the only the Sith had all the somewhat crazy characters.

I remember a decidedly No-cannon comic series called ‘ Star Wars tales ' were ( pre a new hope ) Han is stoped several times by imps while flying a blockade runner the imps know he’s smuggling but can’t prove it untill the imp Captain asks for the scans of each stop and discovering Han is smuggling Star ships. I loved that series I must have been the only one it only lasted about six bi monthly issues

Mostly prefer bronze, cyan, and grey lightsabers, but yeah, his lightsaber was cool too.

To be honest, the whole shtick about him being "vain" and "pretentious" was what OTHER jedi thought of him. When you look at what he actually does, he loyal, rational, kind, patient, principled and decisive. I would argue it's the rest of the jedi who take themselves too seriously and can't handle someone among their ranks actually having a personality.

@@michaelandreipalon359 I know they’re different that’s why I said same difference. Basically the same thing as saying it’s a distinction without a difference. Edit: also a satyr’s more accurate because they have two legs. A centaur requires having four legs due to being a human with the bottom half of a horse whereas a satyr only has two. So a satyr’s more accurate. Kind of.

Weird and eccentric, yes, but a loyal and true Jedi all the way, and besides, he and the other Jedi ensured of nearly 1,000 years of well-deserved peace for the galaxy, so I can praise him and them for that.
A good jedi who had a epic duel with Darth Bane and despite not stopping the sith. He still did achieve some peace

Bane was a skilled and powerful being, but the only reason he survived against 3 Jedi at the same time (one of them being the best duelist of the order), was because of the Orbalisk armor. Bane only had to protect his face.
@@EwingAmaterasu Agreed, bane had the upper hand with the orbalisk armor, but still it wasnt easy to take down the best jedi masters. Lets not forget zannah who didnt have the luxury of orbalisk armor.
The ascetics of this era are just so different from anything else yet still so Star Wars, I love it.
I love him. He is a rock star and deserves to front his own Jedi Metal Band, called Army of Light.

The olden times of Star Wars Legends were pretty odd and colourful. It almost feels like an in universe fanciful retelling of historical events.
Almost like an in universe piece of historical fiction. With some elements of a tall tale.
Is it silly? Yes.

Farfalla, despite his skill and loyalty, was the first domino in the Sith grand plan. He accepted the Ruusan Reformations, without complaint, and allowed the Jedi to abandon the people of the galaxy and become servants of the Senate. He let the Jedi take all the blame for the dark age and did nothing to help recoup their image. Distrust for the Jedi grew, and the Senate came to see them as attack dogs. In less than ten years, he and the other Jedi let their skills atrophy, and left him, and his fellow knights, vulnerable to Darth Bane and Darth Zannah. In short, he helped end the Brotherhood of Darkness, but insured the rise of the Banite Sith, and Darth Sidious' Galactic Empire.
The fact that we're simply not ready for this level of awesomeness in mainstream movies is just saddening...
you'll just have to build up craziness levels like MCU, start with grounded Iron Man movie end with multiverse introduction

A planet of peoples traveling the galaxy in ships like this would make this story completely legit, and not jarring or weird at all. A Jedi who insists on flying a ship of the BlahBlahBlah planet could be easily justified and rationalized (i.e. he crashed landed on that planet as a padawan and found them to be superior craft). It's only weird if he's the ONLY one to fly this type of ship.
I like it though. I want MORE of these ships..... And a space Pirate that flies one.
