Grimlock is usually considered to be one of the strongest Autobots in various continuities specially the align continuity, but I don't think people fully understand by just how much, in this video I will explain why Grimlock is way stronger than people give him credit for. Tfwiki has them on separate pages because the Rid showrunners confirmed that Rid Grimlock is a different character entirely, but has the same name. Their excuse was that in the aligned continuity, “Grimlock” is a popular name for beastformers.
I think FOC grimlock vs Predaking from prime would be epic. They are both pretty intelligent and basically indestructible. After beating eachother and destroying everything around them they would probly stop and go there separate ways or join forces eventually lol
Remember when he was first introduced in G1? My man almost killed Prime and Megatron at the same time. He honestly would have killed them if he hadn’t learned that Optimus was his leader.
I love Grimlock he's one of my most favorite autobots i loved it how he's the strongest, the fastest, the smartest and the bravest, and he would be the perfect worthy opponent for the predacon Razorclaw
I want a Grimlock like this one to be in a TF show... The last two we had were a doofus and a rather charming fellow. The thought brought to mind the idea of Cyberverse Grimlock meeting his very large and imposing FOC counterpart. Maybe the former could help the latter with the mental dampeners.
Aligned Grimlock by far is the best Grimlock thus far, the fact Fall of Cybertron's 2nd main story was primarily about him goes to show how much of an impact he had on the aligned continuity
My favorite version of grimlock was in FOC, he actually has basic intelligence he isn't "stupid" Listening to his speech it can be said that before being expiramented on his intellect could be considered slightly below that of an average cybertronian but he is far from stupid He himself states during the mission that he is not able to "Think" as hard as before and of course it could be considered a "game mechanic" but the fact is he may not be able to do anything with technology during his mission in foc but he does know what to break in order to carve his path.
In this corner, he's the Commander of armies, ruler of a dead world, swordman of swordmen, the very definition of brutality, the untamed and never will be tame ultimate power house in the Autobots team, hate all Cons with a burning passion, King of his people, the Dinobots, it's *GRIMLOCK* And in this corner, he's one of the last survivors of a dead species, he's no beast, killing all who dares undermine him, already as a record killing spree after being online for only a month, isn't afraid to put all in their place, the King of his people, the Predacons, it's *PREDAKING* Seriously Fire please make a King vs King Death Battle thing one day 🙏🏼
If there are plans for a live action Transformers movie with Grimlock again, I'd like to see it take inspiration from Fall of Cybertron and maybe take him to a new level.
In my fanwork, Grimlock becomes so strong that he breaks the augmentations Shockwave did to him, and converts back into his vehicle form before he turns into a T-Rex.

I also found it very impressive that he was able to find and create a source of technology on a planet that is fully organic. How ever in my opinion I would probably rate him at #2 of the smart continuity Grimlocks

I'm just looking at this now and I wonder how did he not get the matrix of leader shape yet...since he is this capable of leading and has the power and abilities to back him up.
iirc, you need wisdom above all other qualities to deserve the matrix. A wise person knows how to control himself (keep anger in check as well as not even laugh at jokes like TF Prime Optimus keeps himself calm and steady even in desparate situations and is able to make wise decisions) in almost all situations. Grimlock is not able to keep his anger/rage in check, and thus cannot make wise decisions, thus not being able to qualify for matrix. Although he shows improvement gradually if you read comics correctly. In rage of dinobots he loses control due to anger, but in Beast Hunters he became a leader, and is able to keep his vanity in check, eg- he didnt finish the predacon locked by him and Bumblebee even after Bee says him to finish the predacon, Grimlock choses not to do so. Also at end of Predacons Rising, Optimus was asked what will happen of lineage of Primes to which he replies that all the Autobots by that time have achieved experience and wisdom enough that they all are Primes in a way. Around this time Grimlock shows improvement too in his instincts and decision making. So I guess there can be multiple contenders for being a Prime after Optimus. And btw Grimlock is no prime material... he is rage/dino/smash (Grimlock Smash)/beast material. We all like him that way I guess.
