Prestongrange in Scotland. A Powerhouse of Industry.

This weeks video gives us a good look at Prestongrange and the surrounding area. With views of what's left of the heavy industry which used to be present there and some of the surrounding greenery which remains. Footage filmed with my drone as well as some more close up on foot footage.

My grandfather ( Jimmy Burns ) was manager of the brickworks up to and after it’s closure. He got me a summer job when I was a student, helping to finally empty the Hoffman kiln. An enjoyable task opening the kiln up a few years after it’s last firing. My dad ( John Burns ) was the dumper truck driver at Prestongrange Colliery and filled in Morrisons Haven harbour in the late 50’s early 60’s . A lovely video 👍👍

My mother was born at Morrison Haven in June 1923
