Qsuite has been regarded as the ultimate benchmark of business class for the past two years or so. The introduction of business class “suite” with a door was revolutionary as passenger privacy was elevated to a whole new level. However, in the end of 2019, All Nippon Airways humbly rolled out their new business class product under the branding “the room”, featuring a fully enclosed suite with the seat being twice as wide as that of Qsuite.
ANA, along with its Japanese counterpart JAL, has been regarded as a Skytrax five star airline for 2019. The distinct Japanese hospitality and the country’s prolific gastronomic heritage are the highlights on top of what might be the world’s largest business class seat.

Nice review. Food on Japanese carriers are the best. Can't wait to book a premium seat on ANA or JAL and dine for hours again when travel conditions become reasonable again. Would love to see your future flight reviews in 4k :)

Cabin lighting on ANA is much to bright for a night flight. JFK-HND had 5+ hours of full brightness. That would be my chief complain.

I bought that sake today. $85 per bottle. Feels like sake mixed with lemonade. The sake itself is a little bit overpriced but good for being served on the plane, pairing nice with food

Hi. Thank you for the beautiful and very detailed reviews. I have one question: which product do you prefer than the other: the room of ANA and apex sky suite of Japan Airlines?
Now that's a very tricky question to answer 😅 In terms of hard product, I'd say ANA wins since you'll get a similar experience wherever you sit, unlike Apex Suite where the window seats are substantially better than the aisle. In terms of catering, JAL prevails with its abundant collection of Michelin collaborations. And finally when comparing the lounges, JAL has an advantage given the outstanding OneWorld portofolio.
@@ShanghaiFlyer Thank you so much for very fast answer. I have the same feeling as you described. Apex windows seat is the best seat of all kinds in business class. The food of JL look better than NH. And many rate JL's lounge better. I consider booking JL in future, sothat I can explore both nrt and hnd. Until NH receives 777-9, I will try the room.

Is travel to Tokyo allowed right now ? How do you get into Japan ? Are you Japanese ? Or UK citizen ?
At the moment no. I was only transiting via Tokyo when this video was filmed and there were no restrictions for transit back in March.
I was flying a lot of times with the Qatar Airways business class and also in the Q suites. Is the room of ANA bigger as the Q Suite of Qatar? How you think about the service ? ANA vs. Qatar?
What was the date of this flight?
Because it was looking okay for the time of corona.

The room is certainly more spacious than Qsuite. Both airlines have outstanding service though ANA's catering may be better oriented towards East Asian passengers. The flight was in mid-March as mentioned at the beginning of the video. The epidemic sound link should allow you to access their resources for one month without paying and I highly recommend downloading tracks during that month as they remain copy-right protected even after you terminate the subscription in the future.
Also, what do you recommend to me, ANA OR JAL?

Is it true that this new configuration is no longer going be in service, due to the pandemic, until further notice?
ANA had indeed temporarily suspended the fleet with "The Room" but it appears to be back in service recently. At least the London flight is showing the seat map with this configuration.

Flew in the suite HND FRA. Seat was narrower but i think when turn into bed it’s wider head to toe. Ana had terrible supper service tho on that flight.
Bedding is worst than previous first class with no choice of soft or firm. But the new 43inch 4k tv in the suite is really awesome though... i flew LH first after that and literally have to squint.

Nice flight review. I love ANA. I am wondering if it feels odd to sit with such a wide seat and no armrest on one side?
It's similar to sitting on a couch. But you can always stack up the pillows as an armrest :)
It reminds me of the old-school Singapore Airlines SQ business seat - wide as the ocean! I have languished in it from Houston to Moscow, Tokyo Narita to LAX and Singapore Changi to Narita. I think the Scholor’s 17 hour A350XLR accommodations from SIN to Newark looked a bit cramped in the new SQ business configuration. But he soldiered through! Good flier, good lad.

U have to explain why NH has reverse configuration seats which is unusual to Japanese carriers including JAL.W
That is the cube style you would expect for a Japanese carrier, great improvements! Spacious and isolated! Very suitable for traveling amid pandemic. The appetizer seems like the best part of the food. I'm just a little bit tired of sukiyaki.
Now, Scholor, that’s fine accommodations! Looks preferable to even the storied new 777 Emirates Suites cabin on selected flights from Dubai to Brussels and Fort Lauderdale. You’ve really sold me on both ANA and Haneda. So much closer in than Narita, and easier to navigate. Delta just switched its service over there from NRT.

CM I used to fly United and Scare Canada regularly Both airlines used to be good Now they offer “ service “ to Asia however Europe and Domestic are hit and miss In North America United has created their version of Air Canada Rouge ( Air Canada’s charter service ) The problem is that the majority of both airlines Domestic routes fall under “ charter “ as dors most of Europe I am still waiting to see someone give Air Canada’s Rouge a review in basic economy which is exactly what United’s economy is now like. It seems no reviewer is willing to do it An airline isn’t just about it’s premium services remember that
