good tutorial ! I like the step by step, funny as it may seem but even on a simple job missing a small detail will yield in a broken clip with these cars

Thank you for the encouragement! I do have a couple things I can work on. I have a gear shifter that feels loose, a blower fan that gets noisy once in a while. My biggest project I am not certain whether I can tackle is replacing the steering gearbox. I think my original one is leaking. I should have done it while the weather was nicer....I may try to hold out until spring :-)
I got a 99 c280 and I had to replace this same part. When I went to put it back in I couldn't get it to click for the life of me. I ended up lining it up with the grooves and giving it a good hip bump and it finally went in after 40 minutes of torture. I also did not by the part from Mercedes. But..... once it was in everything was good. Its fairly simple and now that I know about the hip bump technique, Im sure if I have to replace it again Ill have no problems.
