JJ is absolutely correct though. Almost all of the media coverage around the NBA is negative. The NFL literally mandates that the media not cover their league in a negative light, so they don't have this problem. If all you ever hear from talking heads on TV is that the NBA is trash then why would anyone ever actually watch the game. The Inside the NBA guys are funny, but they have no clue what they're talking about most of the time because they don't actually watch or follow the league that they're covering which is an embarrassment.

Same goes for the tired ass 2 man game with a super high pick and roll that a lot of teams do. In most half court offenses in this league there’s a lot of standing. Quick 3s early in the possession are also encouraged by metrics. We have access to some of the most unique and skilled individuals to ever play this game, but imo, similarity and a lack of creativity in coaching is limiting the entertainment factor of it. The Knicks and Thunder played maybe the most entertaining game I’ve seen all season last night, and both teams were described as playing more “old school” basketball. There was ball movement, physical defense, and creative scoring in the mid range and at the cup (shoutout SGA). Speaking for myself here, but maybe some other ball fans agree. I still love this game, I just would like more variance team to team.

Remember how delusional people were for a while saying that this era had the "most skilled" players doing things "we've never seen before"? Now the truth is coming out exposing just how lackluster today's NBA is. Ratings wouldn't be going down if the product was good. For the longest these young cats were calling us 'old heads' and that we were hating and just holding on to nostalgia. Yes, we do miss the NBA from the 90's and early 2000's, but today's product is overall NOT GOOD. Too much of the same play styles; no true rivalries amongst teams/players because everyone is friends; superstars constantly jumping from teams and not truly establishing an identity and territory in one city; draining of talent from small markets into big markets.

JJ is absolutely correct though. Almost all of the media coverage around the NBA is negative. The NFL literally mandates that the media not cover their league in a negative light, so they don't have this problem. If all you ever hear from talking heads on TV is that the NBA is trash then why would anyone ever actually watch the game. Same goes for the tired ass 2 man game with a super high pick and roll that a lot of teams do. In most half court offenses in this league there’s a lot of standing. Quick 3s early in the possession are also encouraged by metrics. We have access to some of the most unique and skilled individuals to ever play this game, but imo, similarity and a lack of creativity in coaching is limiting the entertainment factor of it. The Knicks and Thunder played maybe the most entertaining game I’ve seen all season last night, and both teams were described as playing more “old school” basketball. There was ball movement, physical defense, and creative scoring in the mid range and at the cup (shoutout SGA). Speaking for myself here, but maybe some other ball fans agree. I still love this game, I just would like more variance team to team.
