A few super important corrections: 1. "Survival of the Cruel" node in Lich is not strictly better than the "Spirit Leech" node in Warlock (it doesn't leech the DoTs applied by some non-spell curses) so please replace it with "Spirit Leech" by respeccing once you reach that point in the Warlock skill tree. 2. The "Withering" node in Warlock will triple the damage from our curses and leaving this out was a huge oversight on my part. Get it before you get "Vessel of Chaos" and instead, do not max out "Chains of Ruin" and "Vessel of Chaos" (leave them at 5/8 and 5/7 respectively) The written guide will be updated on this within the next 24 hours. (I will edit this comment once the changes have been made)
I’m not totally sure exactly. I feel like I notice a damage buff when I have stacks but it may just be a placebo. In any cause, if not bugged it’s still great for the build
Great build, great guide. A few things i would like to point out. 1. Survival of the cruel states it leeches spell damage. Im not 100% sure about this but i believe this doesn't apply to damned and probably torment either. While the warlock leech is just generic leech so it will 100% apply. Like i said though Im not 100% sure but i believe things like damned don't inherit the spell tag even if applied by a spell so it wont leech. 2. I believe when u get things like barbute and get alot of ward per second ward retention becomes way better then ward threshold. As such intellect becomes extremely good. I point this out since u take alot of ward threshold instead of retention and intellect(which will buff damage aswell). It might be better to take passives and bases that give intellect and retention instead.
I will have to test the survival of the cruel node cause you might be right. I think I may have misread the node or am misunderstanding leech (the leech tooltip says it applies to DoTs). But yes after your switch to Barbute, ward retention is much more valuable. Thanks for the input!
Nice guide thanks. I’ve been building a similar Warlock but using Harvest instead of Chaos Bolts and making it poison focused. I may try this build today as I seem to have all of the gear (no LP though!). I do had The Red Ring, would you suggest using this instead of one of the rings you mentioned, as it gives 20% to all resists, mana and health regen. Thanks for such a great guide. :) I’m currently 96 and struggling with gear on my Melee Poison Warlock. I accidentally lost my 2h staff I was using with the Titan Heart chest (15% less damage when using 2h weapons) it had a Tire 7 Necrotic and Poison dps on it too! Was a sad day! 😂
If you do have The Red Ring, it could potentially fix a couple of issues this build innately has - low mana regen and all res. Definitely try using it if expecially if you’re in Hard Core. Only issue I could see is loss of damage as rings generally provide a fair amount, but that might be fine in the face of ease-of-use.
Great build, lots of fun so far just got to monos after 4 hours or so :) How do you deal with Mana issues? I appreciate that CB sometimes gives some mana on hit but that does not come even close to covering it for me at least, let alone if I want to use Wandering spirits or something. I am running oom all the time in monos it's really off-putting. I have a Wand with -3 mana cost which helps a bit but the issue persists.
Fragile Crust refunds quite a bit of the cost of Chaos Fissure when you hit a rare/boss. Casting bolts on big packs of cursed enemies can refill your mana quite quickly due to shotgunning. Other than that, yes this build is extremely mana hungry unfortunately
“Trainjng” isn’t in my job description, but I end up training people because I’m so good at teaching and explaining 😂 The voice is from years of customer service in loud environments hahaha
Great guide, I'm enjoying the playstyle alot. Just a question, do you prioritize necrotic resistance over necrotic damage or damage over time? I'm only at level 60, and I'm abit unsure if I should prioritize the nec resist or the damage modifiers on items if I had to choose, since this build scales so much off necrotic resistance for both offence and defence. Thanks in advance and thanks again for the great guide.
You can get both since the damage affixes are prefixes, and the resists are suffixes. You don’t have to choose between the two on the same piece of gear. If you’re choosing between different pieces of gear; If you’re hardcore, prioritize defence If you’re softcore, prioritize damage
@@a1h10 ya it's just cause it's highlighting affixes that don't drop on the items selected. it won't affect the usability of the filter at all and it's just cause I copy/pasted the settings lol
I love this build. I run a similar one. Bossing seems slow though. And with alot of one shot mechanics, it worries me at higher corruption levels snd T4 dungeon bosses
I rarely push builds to high empowered because there’s no point. But if you really want to you should just try to get T6/7 necrotic res on all your gear, and probably a ton more ward retention
@@Osprixx Thanks, I'll have to find the better gears, most of mine are only T5 and T6 atm. The mobs and bosses seem to hit me beyond the 75% resist cap and I'm sitting around 115% resist cap for all.
@@cruzgallegos5071 you definitely don’t need any higher than 115% all res, Marked for Death reduces by 25%, so just focus on the necro res and ward retention. Keep in mind this build is intended as a cycle starter, it may not even be able to push super high corrupt
Any recommendations for using this while leveling? I oom so fast, especially on bosses... maybe taking points out of Chaotic Rupture until I get more geared? (i'm only 63 lol)
I read that you said spam chaos bolts on rares, but I'm typically already at 0 mana when casting fissure and then it keeps me stuck at 0 when it casts chaos bolts as soon as it has enough mana to do so (this might just be a gear diff lol)
@JoeyJSawyers uhh could just be a gear diff ya, generally I don’t go under 0 mana when I cast Fissure, even while levelling. Maybe grab or craft some max mana where you can

Do we get an updated written guide soon? :D thx anyway, great guide!
It's nice to see that people aren't stuck with single op build and are trying to find something fresh.
I’m always trying out new ideas, and when something ends up being strong like this I feel like I have to share it
I mdifying my witch fire torment warlock with your build - wish you had an endgame witch fire version. Thanks for explaining the mechanics well ❤
A great and compentent warlock guide. Thank you !
Thanks! Keep in mind the changes made on the pinned comment!!
Cool - this is a different type of build that I hadn't seen a video for yet.
I’m actually surprised nobody else has made a guide using this skill combo yet

The one thing that I don't fully understand is the loot filter. It seems to be broken or it's just me being stupid :D
