Even more insane is that it's RPGMaker 2000. RPGMAKER 2000. ONE OF THE OLDEST RPG MAKER PLATFORMS AVAILABLE ON WINDOWS. Seeing this done on a newer engine would still be impressive, sure, but the fact it's done on one of the oldest available versions on PC? Blows my mind. AAA game developers work hard but YNFG developers work harder to make some of the most beautiful areas in gaming history on an old game making engine.

seems pretty simple to me. the wheat is all events. they just do a set move route command and set the event to parallel process to make the animation loop. each tile is on a different frame so when you put it all together it creates a wavy flowing pattern.

​@@ColbyMegaFunny AS SOMEONE WHO TRIED THIS DONT USE MOVE ROUTE TO ANIMATE A LOOP BACKGROUND, just use the simple spin animation for the event the move route will fuck up alot of other animation for your effect because its parallel and need to wait until it finishes.
