What kind of art did you do this year? Did you learn anything new or have any "ah-ha!" moments? 🤗

Your surface design pieces are so nice! I mainly did a lot of sketching and doodling this year, and I hope to work on more finished pieces in 2023. As far as "ah-ha" moments, your Time Management video was a big help for me. In 2023 my goal is to focus on my more important goals instead of trying to do "all of the things". I'm going to do my best to manage my time better this year. :)

My ah-ha moment was....it's important to challenge yourself but there comes a time where you have to give yourself permission to do easy things, and do them really well! (while having fun)

Amen! That's a wise a very true observation :) A mix of both and a good balance is needed. Working to our strengths isn't always a bad thing!

Hi Ness! Very usefull video. It's always imteresting to see how other artist think, work and keep record of their art. Your collections are wonderful and it would be great if you made some tutorials and brushset recommendations concerning watercolors in Procreate!

That's a good idea! I'll make an Airtable art database tutorial :) Airtable is SO cool and it's free!

Thank you Ness for another great video! You're such an inspiration This year I've been working on putting together my portfolio pieces so that I can then apply all that I learned through your wonderful bootcamp courses. I did small illustrations for prints/postcards/wall art, and patterns, and - hopefully - I'll be ready to send them to you for review at the beginning of 2023... cannot wait for that!

its funny.. the "dark star" pattern is one i did almost 15 years ago. she is like "it was really easy, i did it in a couple of hours" but when i did that stuff I spent like 16-20 hours on it. All of the triangles and arrows she did are sigils. they are a Language and they have meaning. A lot of stuff I tend to do never gets alot of traction from me, but Trends years later and im like "man, i wish i kept that! I wish I started Etsy like 10 years ago when i was told to do so.. I still haven't started my Etsy shop. I think I am too timid

    • @ArtBusinesswithNess

Well it took me just a couple hours because I already drew the art last year so I only put together the patterns. But I want to reassure you that when I drew the actual art, it took me a truckload of time too! I'm not that good LOL. And you're not slow, especially when you take this much effort with the meaning of the sigils like you do, it's a labor of love that takes time :) I also feel like I missed the boat on so many things, like a few years ago it was easy to get into surface design and now it's so much more competitive... Yes the best time to get into Etsy was 10 years ago, but the second best time is now! I wish you the best success in your goals in 2023 :) It's intimidating to start an Etsy shop, but if you just start doing one little step at a time, you'll be there before you know it!
