"Sa ating pagkakaisa, maitataguyod natin ang ating sektor ng agrikultura at pangisdaan upang mapaunlad ang ating komunidad at bayan," expressed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as he led the distribution of various government assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and their families at the Senator Edgardo Angara Convention Center in Baler, Aurora on July 12, 2024.
The President underscored the completion of the Aguang River Flood Control Structure Project in Baler, aimed at mitigating flooding. He also highlighted the ongoing construction of the Dingalan-Baler Road Project, which is currently 42.13% complete with a budget of PhP4 billion.
Addressing the abandoned Aurora Pacific Economic Zone (APECO) projects worth nearly PhP796 million, he assured them that actions are underway to rebid contracts and complete these projects swiftly.
He also noted the steady progress of the Baler Airport Development Project, mentioning that the land acquisition has been recently completed.
Other forms of assistance being distributed include essential farming equipment and financial aid, a PhP10 million animal quarantine facility, a PhP25 million loan fund for farmers and fisherfolk, as well as provisions for boats, fishing gear, livelihood programs, scholarships and training support.
Concluding his remarks, the President reiterated his commitment to the people of Aurora, recognizing the vital role of farmers and fisherfolk in sustaining the nation's daily life. He also expressed hopes that the aid and projects would inspire further efforts to uplift the community and the entire country.
"Bilang isang bansa, tayo ay magsama-sama, magtulungan at magkaisa sa pagtataguyod ng isang Bagong Pilipinas - isang Pilipinas na mas matatag, mas maunlad at mas makatao para sa bawat Pilipino," President Marcos Jr. ended his speech.
