That dog is gorgeous with and without coat. I love the fact that they're never brushed and combed and never, ever shaped with cosmetic styling. (Something most people just can't wrap their heads around.)
Cool! Just been researching the breed as looking after one at the moment @!work ( Kennels) Then found this !! Couldn’t believe it’s the lovely Zorro in full coat ;-) His being a absolute angel & His got me quite smitten with the breed
Can you give me a advice. The owner of Spanian water dog wont to cut a dog with a seazers how to cut a dog awithdaut a cliper whole dog, she wont a whole dog be a one size?
Spanish water dog owner. They have real hair (not fur)so they do not shed nor have that typical "dog smell" I groom mine every 3 months but I know owners who bathe them 2 times a year and their dogs really don't smell at all. The breed does love water though so i let mine play in the fountain in a park near my house pretty much every day ;)
You don't understand the basics of what is going on. These dogs are never brushed and combed and never trimmed to look "cute". Once the dog is completely corded - they must be shaved very short to get rid of the matting. Can't leave "a little more for your taste". In three weeks it'll be a little longer so you can can a picture at that point. Sheesh.
comparing a Water Dog to a chihuahua is like going to a fancy restaurant, asking for a filet mignon and saying its the same as eating KFC. Chihuahuas are pretty neurotic and not a great breed to have in comparison.
We have a Spanish Water dog just joined our family - they are so gorgeous!!!

what a beautiful dog.....top tip...cut the dog every spring as soon as it starts to warm up..then by winter he has a thick coat.

Cute pup!
Do show dogs also get clipped once or twice a year or can you just leave the coat be and keep separating the cords?
They ar wonderfull dogs
These dogs look 100x better with short hair....like this or maybe even an inch longer
Do they have a strong odour due to their coat? Thank you!

She said at the start of the video it was a 5f, but a 7 is also fine. Then, where there are flaps of skin (like ears, armpits, etc) she used a 10.
