Yes, that would be a chataf-qamets which should be pronounced like the qamets-hatuf, i.e. like a short "o". My pronunciation as an "a" vowel is not correct. This word occurs at the end of Genesis 2:23. If you go to my Hebrew Reader, you'll see that Shmuelof actually pronounces it wrong. He does it like I did as an "a" vowel. Rabbi Dan Be'eri, however, does it correctly as an "o" vowel. Even the great Abraham Shmuelof can be wrong sometimes!
