5:38 FACTS. TY for the transparency Coleman ! I have been saying since the crash of 2021, that all these influencers, even Card Ladder, were spinning a false narrative.
They kept saying, well if u compare card prices to a yr ago, 2 yrs ago, 3 yrs ago we’re still up a ton. The goal posts kept getting moved. Everybody kept saying how we’re still up, we’re still up ! Its a great time to buy !
Which was the absolute wrong way to look at things. I of course knew these things but i didnt listen to myself, because i was a degen who loved to buy breaks. But i knew the minute the goal posts kept getting moved by these influencers who kept saying to zoom out the graph 1 yr. Then it went to 2 yrs and now its cards are still up compared to 2019.
Always be mindful of what you’re buying. Its a jungle out there

Prepare for the National. As said - comfortable shoes; dress for comfort. Prepare before the show by looking at the "Layout." I hit my favorites FIRST to nail stuff that will go fast. Then be organized about how you walk the floor and photo vendors you want to see again later for in depth negotiations or 2nd look at something one is mulling over in their head while viewing new tables.
Don't forget to make time for any "events" going on to include seeing some of the Corporate Booths. Remember, the big AH's will have serious displays - it's just like going to a "Museum!" Important: if you "miss the boat" on something? Don't worry. All and all (rare occasions). Another will "sail your way" either later or at another show/AH/eBay/LCS? I bring Kind bars e.g. - any power/protein bar will give you a boost - you'll be on your feet for over 8 hrs!!! Most important? Have fun. Some dealers/vendors will be jerks? I just move on to the next one - most all are very friendly and interested in selling. Behind the scenes? A lot of big sellers like Levi Bleam of 707 Sportscards do a big business flipping with other smaller vendors. I rarely get deals from these kinds of sellers. Long term. I have great patience in order to find what I want at a price "I" believe is in my wheelhouse. Best of luck guys. Not going this year. 👍

We sell tons of cards each year, we looked at ALT and quickly realized they were a platform that was only good for buyers...the rest of the world has noticed this too and the sellers are running from them. It's not a platform that attracts enough mid-level buyers so things under-sell, average collectors only fringly know them, and they act like they're NASDAQ and demand so much info (including very personal info) from people using it that it makes people uncomfortable.

at 6 mins Coleman explains exactly what I have said, there is an education and people are waking up to the fact 2020 and 2021 were anomalies, not the norm. This is a correction of behavior and market.

To be fair the sports card market is growing a lot so of course 2019 prices and 2022 prices you can’t compare a lot more eyes on the card market now

@@warhammerfaction the hobby grew in 2020/21 but it is contracting now. There are less people in 22 than 20 and it will decline. Lots of hobbyist were scammed or lost money just like the end of the 90s. You will see LCS start yo ho under in 12 to 18 months. There is too much product and not enough demand. Econ 101.

I really don’t like the ole “well if you look at the prices from 3-5 years ago you’re still way up.” The hobby has evolved, we’re far from those days since the pandemic.
Also, do you think schilling will run wild on alt now? That’s my prediction. Make up ground for comp loss, but not pay? I kind of liked how alt avoided non-payers. Made for a true comp.

Count how many times Sasha says "LIKE", you won't believe it. How can this kid grow a beard but still hasn't learned how to speak?
