I have a 2017 with the V6. So far its been a great vehicle at 73k miles no issues just regular maintenance.

Well said, as an owner of one of these, I conquer 100%. I have been a GM guy my whole life and at age 58 I am really impressed by this current generation Jeep Trailhawk.

We are quite similar. I’ve owned GM all of my life and I’m a couple years older than you. After Awning and Escalade for about 18 years I’d like to get a brake in fuel efficiency and get something more fuel efficient than 12 miles per gallon. The Escalade has an incredible amount of power and it’s a real monster in the snow and I hope that this Cherokee is not gonna be a sacrifice in those aspects. How are you liking the Cherokee so far?

I bought the 22 X model v6 for Colorado winters driving in the snow. ❤

I'd say the AMC Eagle actually started the crossover segment.

I have to laugh at the Jeeps aren't reliable cry that is always present in these threads. I laugh all the way to the driveway where a 21 y/o Grand Cherokee lives that has 207k, and before that a Cherokee that had over 200k, and before that a Grand Cherokee with 150k that someone wanted bad enough to offer me a great price for and is still driving several years later. My son has one of these that he drives daily and the only gripe is the 9speed which never as been fully sorted to shift perfectly, but that's simply a software issue that hasn't had enough attention by the engineers. They are now starting to put in a zf 8 speed which is a gem of a transmission and pairs well with the new 2.0t engine. Jeeps have character, they have a soul will they ever be Toyota reliable? No, but then again I've never seen a Jeep break in half in the middle as I've seen both Tacomas, and Tundras do due to frame that rusted through. ALL manufacturers each have pet issues to be aware of, but Jeep gets an unfair reputation that is parroted by the general populace with no real evidence other than hearsay.

💥After 18 years of driving an Escalade I’m ready to downsize to something more fuel efficient since my children are now in college. When I finally decide to make the switch Jeep better not get rid of analog gauges or I will look elsewhere. Currently my 03 Escalade is a beast in snow with Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo as my winter tires as a 4 wheel drive vehicle and I’ve gone out in every blizzard and made it on unplowed roads with absolute ease so because of this I’m looking for something with similar capabilities and my daughters 2018 trail rated Compass does not hold up. I think that my Escalades capabilities are because of its weight along with a 345 HP 6 liter.
Please, Jeep. Don’t botch up a potentially good thing. Keep the analog gauges.

Bought my 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk new. It is fun and has never given me any trouble. I’m not sure a new one would be as fun as my old one. Does the ‘23 have Easter eggs? Flip up and lay flat front passenger seat? Backseats that tilt back for added passenger comfort?

Had two jeeps first one was CJ5 that cracked the engine block, didn't learn and bought a Jeep Patriot brand new in '08, was dead at 150k miles 9 years in. It's doubtful I'd never buy a Jeep product again.

I would guess that your trailhawk has a V6 engine. Now they sell these 4 cylinders "turbo" for the same price. You step on the gas pedal on these things and it feels like a lawnmower

@guile2366 that kind sucks because that's how a cvt is. Lanwmowerish. But yes. I have a v6 turbo, awd, off road, double fan for pulling, and a brand new differential lol

Actually I think '21 was the last year they offered that 2.0T and, from '22 on, the only option was the 3.2L Pentastar V6--and Jeep totally ceased production of the Cherokee this year ('23).

This rig is great as a grocery getter and is probably good enough in snow, but for God's sake it is a terrible option if you plan to take the rig off of the road.

Interior is way too dated. Jeeps website only lists a turbo charged 2 liter engine, no v-6. $42k, I guess if you want to throw money away given their reliability track record.

    • @healingenso7923

As someone who spent years, driving an 85 Cherokee and today looking for a smaller alternative to the Grand Cherokee, it's a saving of $10-15K. So not exactly throwing money away.

Can I save y'all some time and money? Here we go; my girlfriend has a 2020 Trailhawk. She's currently borrowing my 2009 Toyota Hilander while I'm at work. Why you ask? Because her Jeep is leaking oil with 48k on the odometer 😬
My Toyota has 193k and she wants to trade SUVs 😅🤣

    • @kamryw927

Sounds like the oil filter housing is cracked, which is a common issue when you get it changed at any ol' oil change place. I've got a 2020 Trailhawk and have had very little problems. She probably took it to some oil change place that had no idea what they were doing, and cracked the housing. Don't cheap out; take it to a Jeep dealer to have the oil changed next time.

@@kamryw927 I agree, Jeeps are not junk. I bought a 2019 Jeep Trailhawk with the V6 in October of 2018 and only had one issue and this was caught on one of the scheduled maintenance intervals, it was covered under warranty. I have had all the maintenance done at Jeep Dealers as they know the vehicle best in my opinion. In May of 2019 I bought a small RV, a Geo Pro 12SRK at a loaded weight of 2310 lbs and it tows it without any issues. It doesn't slow down on hills or mountains. I get 32 mile/per/gal and this is imperial gallons not US gals. I'm heading into my 5th camping season with this setup and the Jeep still works just fine. I'm a firm believer in maintaining a vehicle, clean it, fuel it and do the required maintenance. As they say, you take care of it and it will take care of you. The Jeep is almost 4 1/2 years old, surviving temps of -45 degrees, snow, ice and 95 degree of heat. This is my second Jeep Cherokee, bought a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited in 2014, had no issue with it. This is my experience with Jeep, they aren't junk.
