  • AnnaLynne McCord and I have a candid conversation about a grand rounds video released by McLean Hospital that has upset the DID community. We have an open dialog about how we both feel about the situation and share our hope that the situation can be seen as an opportunity to open the door for a deeper dialog between patients, providers, and the public so that we can continue to bridge the gap and can together work towards ending the stigma around DID.

AnnaLynne... Hello there, I'm a certified IFS therapist with dissociative lived experience! I say I have IFS parts and DD parts. Your DD and IFS parts make more sense to me than my morning cup of coffee. You're the real MVP, and I couldn't have asked for a better conversation between you and Dr. Fletcher to wake up to this morning. Thanks for showing up and being candid - you're a true gem, Adrian! Love ya, friend! 😊

Thank you so much for this. This is such an important conversation to be having, especially from medical professionals who know that what McLean did was wrong. Thank you

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Southern California who works with two clients who live with DI (I don't like calling it a disorder LOL). I listened to this talk because Dr. Fletcher and other professionals have made a HUGE difference to one of my clients. Thank you, AnnaLynne, for normalizing DI is such a needed way. My client NEEDS to see/hear other professionals speak frankly about how they have managed their (continuing) healing journeys.

We in the DID community make it a point to never fake claim anyone. Because we do not know that person's journey and that is between a person and her therapist. That said, I think to myself how dare this doctor as a professional determine by a mere video that this person does or does not have DID ?!
