Retinue member: Bob.
Bob is a simple man.
He likes being alive.
The -masculine- goblin urge to find an economic/workhour/production output exploit to be able to afford to arm all your villagers with "unchivalric"(ie crossbow, billhook, flamberge, etc) weapons and plate armor and declare a merchant republic...
Me, a peasant : billhook... Unchivalric?
Venice?
Spam warbow production. Focus only on that. You can import basically all the food and make massive profits
SpiffingBrit did a video of manor lords
Anything that can kill knights is unchivalrous and therefore based.
Sir Not-Appearing-in-this-Game a nod to Sir Not-Appearing-in-this-Film of Monty Python fame
Best Wingman of the century for a guard: Stilgar. As is written.
I love how this game encourages people to role-play so much that people will accidentally do it, even when they want to focus on the strategic side of things.
Well one will have to be from Monty Python, the mighty “Tim”.
Name Idea: Bjorn, Son of Bjorn
Bjorn Bjornson?
Shagga, son of Dolf

I nominate Broth Beefknob for the retinue.
There's always something so charming about building a medieval village from the ground up and watching it grow and prosper.
Before you forcefully conscript every able body you can into your vergining military to turn your village into an empire.
I mean, if you don't become the empire, you'll become part of one eventually
So being the first one to take the step sounds solid
Name: Æthelhild (Noble Warrior). Can also be written as Aethelhild if you cannot get the Æ in the game :)
Me resisting the urge to name my character “Þorvald Kangrikß”
@@flyingsquirrell6953 Bro mixed Ald Norske / Ald Ængalisch with Hohe Teutsch in one name. Love it.
@@lukefriesenhahn8186 Heheheeee
@@lukefriesenhahn8186 I’ll name them “Æþalvyič”

The thing about bandit camps too is that if they rob you, and another ruler takes them out, that ruler can take the goods they stole from you as their loot so you loose it all. It pays to keep the bandits under heel. 😅
Otto von Bismarck is a good name for a soldier
For the Love of God please continue this series. I am hooked and will pick this game up on launch now.
Trogdor the Burninator... because I'm old
Bumblefunk the Jiggly
Can one be called, Gork The Destroyer
Only if theirs a Mork The Cunning
Name idea for an archer: Sir Missalot
Fluffy. Fluffy the God-killer.
Branimir. Brani comes from verb (braniti) which means to defend and (mir) means peace.
I've watched Provus' video on this game, and he had a warning about building the backyard upgrades for the burgage plots. He said that once a house has something like a forge or a tailor's shop, that family is permanently removed from the rest of your town's economy. They'll still bring the stuff they make to the market, but they can't be reassigned to do anything like wood cutting, farming, or forestry. He also advised that such upgrades go exclusively on single-family plots, as otherwise, all families living there will take on the specialized trade, meaning if you put a forge on a two-family burgage, they'd both take up blacksmithing.
Does doubling up families on smiths/tailors double burgage production of goods or is production speed tied to the plot itself and therefore static?
@@plasticbazooka No, it doubles production, but unless you're planning on selling the excess of saying clothing and shoes if you put setups for tailors or cobblers, then it's just a waste, and that's assuming you have enough raw materials to support doubled production, as otherwise, those families on the double artisan burgages will just be sitting on their hands until they can get those raw materials. Instead, I think he suggests putting at-home food production things like chicken coops, goat pens, or garden plots on those double-house burgages.
Yep - The game even spells this out for this with a warning.
@@1Scimetarquestion I presume its only on the artisan backyard upgrades.
so gardens and orchards dont take the family out of the workforce.
@@Zack_Wester correct. Although it will pull one member of the family away for a brief period to tend to those backyard options so building those on plots that have double families makes sense to share in that periodic “downtime”
@stakuyi I would love to see a history video on the development of a historical town into a modern day city. There are so many variables in play, everything from economic construction to fires wiping out areas and resulting in different areas being constructed in their place. I have yet to find a proper medieval city builder that can go from tiny medieval town to big medieval city that ends up "realistically" with economic hubs and inns on squares and markets and so on. I have high hopes for Manor Lords, but I suspect the exceptional variables like disease and fires still won't be adequately represented.
As such, I'd love to see a historical representation of the growth of a town to city! This could be helpful for people creating fantasy medieval cities for TTRPG games too.
If this game had some ck3 features of creating a dynasty, more third-person interactions like going into battles, having the risk of dying or studying and having good business and getting rich, having children, family disputes, having children who hate you, or disowns his heritage. Bigger content at the end of the game, like being a duke or not so much, maybe a baron and having a big castle to defend, with a big map, this game would be magnificent, the game of the decade, but I really want too much, it would take a while more than 10 years to come out if it doesn't come out broken.
I totally agree with what you said if I had the ability to make a game like that I would but I don’t have the knowledge or skills to but that would be my dream game come true XD
If they add feature like ck3 into manor lords wear you can pick any country in the world like ck3 and have you’re single personal domain wear you build like manor lords and have the rest like ck3 were you have vassal and trade with and large army were you can either fight in and live or die or just whatch the AI do it and build up you’re family and empire but each and every building or production has its own pacific theme depending on what region you play in and as you grow you’re land it adds more unique buildings from the lands you conquer we’ll get what I’m saying but it be the game of the century
@@XRakxXRaknasan At that point its just a whole other game, go make it if you want it. Can you imagine manor lords being as big as the entire world? WHERE the dev has to stay closed in his room for 20 years to finish the game?
@@XRakxXRaknasan that would be quite the overhaul. For ideas like this i pray for good mod support. Great idea, but the Manor Lords dev will most likely not add those features you discribed.
There better be an ep 2❤
Hahaha, promoted kid to princess and commander-in-chief
Looks like a fun game!
Name proposal:
This man's name has been lost to time, though his deeds have not. Though he has writ his name in blood through many battles, peasants fear to speak it.
A nameless warrior, he marches from slaughter to slaughter. In the ranks of the fiercest and bravest, are some that call him... "Tim."
Garrus is a great name for a fellow soldier who will fight your enemies
1 minute 30 seconds into my first non-history video I've seen from you. And I already want to binge all your gaming stuff. Why do you have such a nice voice?
Edit: Snot supplies. Hah!
Once this game comes out, it better become a series, or else I'll declare a Crusade
If you could do a form of goverment where can be feudalist, imperial, theocratic, khanate, etc... It would be awesome, of couse coming from the special form of a building: manor>castle, manor>palace, church>abbey, etc
I submit the name: Borgar Bearfield! A brute on the battlefield, yet he is able to enjoy the peaceful stillness among the woods as well.
It's lovely to see Stakuyi be so giddy and excited for a game.
Man, I love waking up, making some peanut butter sandwiches, and then watching your videos. Particularly the HOI4:MLP mod vids. The incredulity whenever you read a horse pun is amazing.
One of Thine soldier shall henceforth be named Bartolomeo the 3erd.
It saddens me greatly that no one compares this game to Tropico. Amazing civilization management game series
I would love to see you play a series of this game
John Smith is by far the best name
Commander Cookies will guide your armies into glorious battle
Have you heard of Age of History 3 stakuyi? Its gonna come out this year!
There is already a third part?
@half55-qo1tq yes? I'm not sure what you mean
@@half55-qo1tq sounds like another one of those cloned mobile cash grabs with AI art that tries to have similar sounding name to an existing established title. Like Age of Empires 3 for example. Does it also have microtransactions, come from China and push NFTs?
@TheArklyte, it's an indie game, not a cash grab.
@@TheArklyte nope, you pay once there is a mobile version, the game is made by single dev(i think he is polish). Otherwise I'd say it's a grand strategy game with quite detailed map that has a lot of provinces with various population and economy
I didn't expect to see you playing this Stakuyi! But man am I glad to see it!
Important features of Burgage Plots:
- Orchards and Vegetable Gardens scale with size.
- Every other expansion *doesn't*.
- Because families need to do their assigned work, maintain their burgage plot, *and* maintain their market stall - it's better to use wider plots that support two families if you're going to use the production expansions, because there's more hands to make sure the burgage work all gets done.
I heard about this game shortly after announcement, in the meantime I finished high school, bachelor degree and completely forgotten about it 😂 just to be gloriously reminded a couple of days ago
Me when I walk out the door: "Ah. Hello peasants."
I love how this game is an actual struggle to get enough food and fuel once you get your population high enough. Like I've currently got a village with 27 families in it that is constantly on the verge of running out of both
Gotta see more. Getting excited for this game now.
A proper spearman's name: Kaladin.
What I gathered from the other youtubers that played this, the number in the trade building is the target. So when you import you buy until you have that number and when you export you sell until you are left with that number. So by setting the planks at 0 but leaving them to export you told them to sell all the planks they can. The shortage made sense though since you spent all the planks to build the wall of your castle.
You show your kid just enough that it's a pleasant surprise, inspires me to be a fantastic and engaged father, gives me the confidence to be a nerdy father, and ensures me not to be scared of having younglings ^_^ thank you sir!!
Really looking forward to see more Manor Lord videos ;) Thank you so much for your great content
Delenor
Was my badass paladin with a poleaxe.
Please keep making videos with this village. Id love to see its progression
Name idea: Sir Valien Skipjiff the Planter; a gentleman with a passing interest in agriculture, especially in the cultivation of hard-shelled legumes that can be pulverized into delicious spreads
I KNEW you’d be all over this. It looks gorgeous.
I was literally watching videos about this last night I’m so hyped rn
I would love to see you continue this village
STAKUYI! MAKING GREAT ACTUAL ENTERAINING CONTENT WITH HOI4 THEN MANOR LORDS?? THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE MAN DURING THIS LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL!! KEEP IT UP! (caps lock)
Sir Pendleton. Baron of Sussyton
FINALLY! Had to slog through other tubers while waiting for The Dude to make one on Manor Lords! Thanks sir!
Oh Stakuyi, I just weirdly love your content. Awesome!!!!
I'm freaking stoked you got access
i hope they add the ability to make different "types" of medieval villages, it would be so fun to try and make something like venice in this game.
Please play more of this game. Love how fun you make them.
Pathfinder would be a great name for one of your soldier
I believe that the best soldiers name is going to be Jarthnarg the Destroyer.
Mailman from your video on crusader Kings 3
You missed out on a lot of regional wealth by not taking out the bandit camps yourself. Also, having your timber production and firewood production so close together just means they compete for resources and deplete the nearby trees twice as fast. You'd be better off isolating them.
Name one "Jan Barthoutszoon" ("John Barthout's son" in English). He was an actual ancestor of mine who was born near Sassenheim, Holland, in 1430. I also have another contender: What about Vargjorn / Wargjorn. It literally means "to be wolf" in Old Norse / Old Western Germanic.
your happiness and excitement is so contagious. :D
This is making me want to get this game even more. This is kind of scratching that Pharaoh city-builder itch in a big way for me.
Retinue names: Sir William and Bjorn
For a sworn shield name: Durin
Name Idea: Astolfo (one of charlemagne’s paladins)
I'm noticing sooooo many games based on the old game Abandoned. The mechanics are nearly identical, the one thing missing in this game is a river system.
"Boris Spearshank" who may, or may not, actually use a spear.
Honestly this is the medieval city building and managing game that we all need. Nothing in here feels like an afterthought or a "check mark" requirement. All mechanics, city building, management, economy, natural resources, and combat are all well done and have effort put into them, as they should be. Im estatic at how it looks and the level of detail devs put into... well everything. Looking forwad to the realese and hoping you make more vids on this in the meantime.
The best name for your personal archer would have to be Legless Boyer.
For a personal Knight would be Gimpy, son of Going
You got any more of the early access codes? Love the vids and keep up the amazing content
Very cool explanation of how the game really works. They should sponsor you Stak!
44:41 you might have already pre-recorded videos, but just in case, you're setting the surplus you want to keep when Exporting (so 0 in this case, meaning that you DON'T want to keep any). So if you haven't changed it, you'll want to do that or stop exporting altogether.
oh oh oh yes !! been waiting for this game for so long -- also for one of the names has to be Aragon, son of Arthorn, the last air of Gondor!
i love this game n how you can do SOOO much in it - cant wait to see the next video !
(glad that Tictok/ TH-cam worked out so well for you mate, been a fan on tictok for a while)
I CANT WAIT FOR MANOR LORDS
For you Retinue I would say Name on Sigismund he can be the Black Knight
i dont really know but i want to participate, name one guy 'Renney' :)
cant wait for part 2!!!
"General Thunderbird McMurder" as a name
As a fellow history bro, I'm stoked for this game.
cant wait to play mannor lords and kingmakers
Playthrough! 🫶
I can't get over the fact that the barony is called Waldbrand, which is german for "forest fire".
A guard named Thor would be pretty badass
I think a good name for a retinue is Nikos. Nikos is a name of Greek origin and a variant of Nikolaos, meaning “victory of the people.” Since you're going to war soon, I think it's a fitting name.
This is what i needed!
I just can't wait for it to release
You should name one of them "Ragnar the Ironfist"
I would recommend Ostriv Game (implements a lot of mechanics from this game but also deepens it)
Cennfinnán, Rinnal, Ollothair, Lugh, Ethriel, Conmael, Muinemón, Adamair, Conchobar, Baetan
You can name your retinue Sir Philip
Philip as of Knight's name
It's elegant name I think
This is definitely one of the best games of this year and of the last two or three years. Hands down.
I didn't followed it since its start because I didn't noticed it immediately, but once saw the first time it was pretty clear that would have become a huge title.
Of course it is still at its beginning so some things could be not up to the task, but only time will show its full potential.
It have a lot of strong points. Regarding the weak points... If you ask me, there's just the german culture to pick up. I dreamed about building a city like Venice or even bigger, but it seems that I'll have to wait for that.
Kudos to the developer/developers. 👍 Excellent job.
Your maniacal grin on the thumbnail is the only reason I clicked on this 😂 you my friend have mastered clickbait bravo 😂😂
I have waited for this game for years, I can't express how excited I am for this game to release
The retinue that has been promised: Lisan Al Ghaib. As it was written
If you get one with the avoids danger trait name him Brave Sir Robin
The crazy one, sounds like a badass name in my opinion
Name for retinue: Icewolf
