Is a lollipop lyra and all of the other lollipop shaped apparatus used in pole dancing or aerial dance?

I'm a circus artist so originally I would say this apparatus started in the circus industry and later was adopted into the pole dancing arena. A circus manufacturer made this apparatus for me back in 2013. It was one of the first ones I believe.
