These minerals settle to a greater degree in the springs with the lowest flow rates, making them the most vibrantly colored. The green jade natural colour of ink pots and bubbles forming from water seeping through the sand, is worth the adventure. Total hike to ink pots via upper falls is 5.7 km one way with a 330 m elevation. The trail is maintained and very busy up to the upper waterfalls, but after the upper waterfalls, the trail is unmaintained and it goes through deep woods.
