I also recommend using the "Headphone boost" option in this update as the BETA was fine but in the pubic release, it was a bit muted so using the BOOST resolved the issue. • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m struggling to think of any mixing desk in this price range that offers a 10 band EQ on mic channels. In fact most broadcast desks don’t even offer that. You could add a mic processor like the dbx286s to your chain before the Rodecaster and if you want final processing you’d be looking at adding a dbx 215s to the chain. You’d then need an interface to pick up the final processed signal from the equaliser and take it back to the computer.

    • @MikeRussell

      Hi John, my first tip would be to upgrade Cool Edit to Audition CC 2021, Cool Edit was an awesome piece of software in it's day but by upgrading to Audition CC 2021 you'd get even more features.
      You could always record your podcast to a Micro SD card then you'd get the multitrack files that you could edit in any DAW.

    I'm actually in the same position with the last comment regarding an Internet station.
    I won't be needing 4 Mics at any given time, so I was wondering if you have any knowledge on using something like a 50db attenuator to convert the digital out from a DJ Mixer to go into on of the MIC inputs at the appropriate level.
    (Its possible you just got another video content idea here lol)
    If this is something, I'll get that RODE inna heartbeat !!!

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could take the output from an analogue DJ mixer into an interface and run your mic in to the computer that way if that's what you're looking to do? Otherwise I wouldn't recommend plugging a mixer into a mic input and would suggest you use line in instead.

  • @TheKing-fp5dd

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the easiest thing to do when setting any mixer is to set the gain so that the fader can be raised to it's maximum value rather than having to remember which level to have each fader set at.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason there isn't such a thing is that everyone's voice is different and requires different processing. Also the recording environment can have an effect too.
      With regards the Playstation or Xbox as long as you can get a cable to connect between the source and the Rodecaster you can connect it up.

Certainly I'd recommend still applying a high pass filter though to take out rumble. It may be that to get the perfect EQ for your voice you'd have to EQ in post production. To be pedantic.... In actual fact, a standard jack has ONE ring and is called a TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) not two rings as you stated in the video. THE SC9 has, as you say, two rings, and is a TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve) Jack.

    They have to colored the meeters on screen accordingly... Why are all they ugly green?
    And Rode: let the screen show up radio "ON AIR" sign... And then it would be perfect, at least, for me.

      The Rodecaster Pro is a fine piece of kit. A lot of broadcasters have taken to it even though it was developed as a podcast mixing desk it’s also worked out very well for radio as well.
