I hope a lot of people understand with this video that a lot of influencers are pushing all of this misinformation out there. It’s refreshing to see someone debunk all of these myths and tell people what they actually need for their hair. Love this channel since the start of it all❤
This was a great chat. The only place I disagreed was on silicones. Silicones are great for making damaged hair look healthier and protecting the hair against heat styling. And most silicones are a lot more water soluble and able to removed easily with regular, even sulfate free shampoo now. If not, you just need to clarify more.
Would looove to see more videos like this! Skincare and hair care have been blowing up online so much that people hear one thing and fail to double check out of blind trust and excitement over trying a new product, but it’s always important to have sources to back things up before trying new things
Thank you very much for providing this content! Most videos presented misinformation or fear tactics. This channel's contents always feel like listening to your sister over beauty products and topics!!❤
Why was it so refreshing to see a pregnant woman who doesn’t make pregnancy their whole identity….perform so naturally when talking about hair health?! Such a unique visual to trigger appreciation. It felt somewhat empowering. Idk what I’m saying. Just in awe.
I could hear you talking for hours. That's so interesting and I knew if was a myth that if you wash it more often it's gets more greasy! My hair have been a Amin in the ass with a lot of oil and I was so stressed about reducing the oil so THANK YOU ❤
After hearing myth 3 debunked all of a sudden I now have the urge to wash my hair asap! 😂 never heard the analogy about hair and tweezers before - this really drove the point home!
I seriously needed this because I’ve grown my hair out and I’m constantly freaking out and hearing misinformation about hair shedding and shampoo. And every shampoo review says someone lost their hair and it’s been freaking me out
Thank you so much for this kind of videos!!! ❤❤❤ Unlike skincare, that I already know so much and can easily distinguished the products that are good for me, I think I have so much to learn about my hair care and I feel so overwhelmed with all the hair products. I think I buy them but then they don't work for me and I feel tired of accumulated them 😅
I didn't know a lot of these, this was really interesting, I never heard of ACT + Acre, will check them out. Helen sounds very Irish, I used to live in Ireland and her accent sounds very Irish :)
Yes people please wash your hair. People that don’t wash their hair for days stink sooooo bad. All the dry shampoo in the world doesn’t make the stench go away
Please have this conversation with (a) someone who isn't selling something and (b) who has curly hair and (c) knows that all silicones aren't the same.
I wash my hair everyday with paraben and sulfate free shampoo (baby shampoo actually) paired with a normal conditioner, because I have sweaty and oily scalp. Living in a humid country. Andddd I also blow dry my hair after every shower with a heat protectant. And an oil after. Is that unhealthy?
It's totally okay to wash your hair daily, especially if you sweat or experience excess oil. In fact, daily washing is great for scalp health! If you do need to blow dry daily, Helen recommends drying the roots and letting the mid lengths to ends air dry. If air drying isn't an option definitely continue using a heat protectant and incorporate a hydrating mask in to hydrate and strengthen the ends. 🤍
Bit confused there. Not washing your hair doesn’t change rate of oil production but if your scalp is dry it produces more oil? Referring to 5:03. This is why I’m hesitant to trust even the “experts” in that business. Can we all just agree that only hormones and your own biology dictates the rate of oil production? Not to mention 6:13 plug of yet another product that “regulates” or “balances” oil production…. I get soaking it up… but c’mon.
Genetics and hormones can certainly impact oil production, but so do other factors like diet and climate. If your scalp is dry, it can trigger the production of more oil. This happens because your scalp tries to compensate for the lack of moisture by overproducing sebum (oil). If you have an oily scalp due to genetics, an imbalance of hormones, etc. washing less often likely won't lead to a decrease in oil production. We recommend tailoring your products and wash frequency to your specific lifestyle and scalp and hair needs. 🤍
My dermatologist and endocrinologist told me that we lose between 5o to 200 hairs a day absolutely normal. Blood tests never lie. If blood work shows bad you will know. Unless you have hereditary or a skin disease.
They missed vitamin D3 of their list of vitamins and minerals that can cause hair loss. Edited to say: having had my own severe deficiency and knowing ithers with their own deficiencies our hair loss stopped when this deficiency was found and rectified.
Misinformation about silicone!!!! Sulfates remove silicones, no issues there. My shampoos don’t contain silicone but my conditioners do. she is a product owner who spreads the misinformation suitable to sell her products.
You will get the best result when combining hair and scalp care with nutrition and life style/stress. Grey hair is nutrition wise a copper deficiency which may have different root causes. She is right about silicons but that is not the only problem for regular shampoo and conditioner. Parabens, endotoxins and sulfates which exists in the most common hygiene and care products. Usually shampoo contains sulfates and conditioners have silicons which in practicality, the sulfates removes the old silicon build up only to use a conditioner with silicons to build it up again. That's problematic. It's like creating a problem and the solution for it, which is totally unneccesary. Being a curly haired girl, I use natural "clean" products not only for my hair but for every area of my body and my home. Dealing with endometriosis, high inflammation and high insulin because our world is filled with processed and synthetic stuff. I also have a genmutation and I truly need to eat clean and "wash clean" in order to reverse my symtoms and feel a little better.
I grew up using coconut oil ,I have the most thick hair in my family and it grows so fast ,I like thin hair easier to manage. I keep cutting my hair .how come coconut oil was not mentioned though this doctor is suspicious.
Are u from the United States? If so, do you buy the coconut oil from the supermarket to use on your hair? Wel, how do u oil ur hair? Scalp only or scalp and hair? Before and after hair wash?
@kay91083 scalp and hair, and I don't use cooking coconut oil like the US. That'scrazy to me,I use the hair coconut oil that is sold in my country that has been here for generations. it's also a very well-known brand in our country. Edit:I keep commenting to see why my comment is not showing up.

wonder what Abbey Yung would say about all this information since she’s a Trichologist also.
Super informative vidéo, thanks!
.....the silicone info is outdated. silicones can be removed with a clarifying shampoo.
Yep and lots now are water soluble so wash out.
Thank you so much for sharing this information with us ❤❤
Thank you! Great topic ❤

I’m not a professional but I would recommend to only blow dry the roots and not the mids and ends:)

That’s not ok. You have oily scalp and use baby shampoo which is sulfate free. How do you expect to actually clean your scalp?
@@actandacre1598 thank you this is so helpful
