This 1/5th Scale SC Truck is 100% Bone Stock. Today I install a KillerRC*com Super Bee Kill Switch.. This is a KILL switch for the Ignition coil.. and electrical Spark System for the gas 23cc engine. I have never installed one of these before, and only recently discovered that this is a MUST HAVE for these types of large rigs. The safety factor alone is well worth this investment..

This will be the first thing I do before I complete any upgrades to this mammoth beast of a machine. Now that I have the kill switch installed, I can now move forward with my plannnnnnssss!

Brilliant mate! I just bought a kill switch and i haven't even got my truck yet haha! I won't be pulling the cord unless the switch is fitted!! No exceptions! Thanks for the great video mate!

yeah mate , they help out big time , Plus always makesure your wheel nuts are verytight to aviod stripping out the hexes , more common on the baja but best to do the same on the 4wds to save time and money. Cheers

Right on Medic!! yea remote kills are great!!! i just installed one on my 30cc extra 260... even though its a different type of ignition kill.... Anyways thanks again for such a great video!!! i get so excited when every u show up in my sub box!!! (umm thats what she said)

Hay guys, small tip with the spark plug, tighten it with a garden hose, yes a garden hose, stick it in one end and keep tightening the plug and there will be a point where the hose will no longer grip the plug and just spin, that's pretty much perfect. also you can't cross thread when using this method either as it will slip.

The Super Bee has adjustable cutoff. 3v, 4v, 5v, 6v. It comes set at 4v, which is good for a 6v NiMh RX battery. For a 7.4v LiPo you would set it at 6v. If you have LED headlights you can plug them in to the Super Bee and it will make your headlights flash when the battery is getting low, before it kills the engine.

Yeah, we all recommend it as the first hop up on any gasser and we don't suggest running, at all without one.

Hey dude , Good vid mist have for largescale cars . Have you got outer wears fr your flywheel , filter and pullstart yet?
Thanks for the great vid. It's a good idea to zip tie the gray cable to the stand-off that holds the ignition coil, to keep the spinning flywheel from damaging the cable. There is a video on how to install the Super Bee on a Losi on the KillerRC.com forum.

What you could have done tho is reused the rubber seal on the switch to shield it from dirt and water :)

The Super Bee has a quick disconnect JST plug on the ignition cable. That should allow you to remove the battery box easily.

Hey medic, BIG FAN, I crashed a RC car 40mph into a brick wall( that was a few years ago so haven't got any video about it grrrrr!) and that video was helpful, I needed a kill switch!!!

:( iam so sad and pissed off at myself I saw this video thought about getting this kill switch bought my losi on Monday broke it in on wensday and crashed it the same day becuz the battery. Came loose from the reciver and off she went into the side of my mom's brick house boooooom plow :'( ....all becuz I didn't listen to this video note to all 5th scale buyers buy a KILL SWITCH BEFORE U CRASH IT....great lesson

I leave fuel in my dbxl but I usually run it every week lol. the fuel in the tank is fine for a couple months, I'd say if it's going to sit for more then a month or so I'd atleast just drain the carb so the Jets don't clog with oil

Thanks man but I have a normal hpi 2.4ghz fall safe installed and the battery fell out and it still put the brake on how. Keep it up all ways a good vid on your channel lol

Bravo. Just be aware that a battle switch is 8 times the size of a Super Bee, doesn't include EMI filtered ignition cable, and doesn't have adjustable low voltage cutoff, or adjustable glitch sensitivity, and won't work with 2 channel radios, and doesn't have engine temperature sensor inputs, and doesn't have data logging for engine temp, battery voltage, and radio glitch info, and doesn't have audible buzzer alert, and doesn't have 6v LED status outputs, etc, etc.
Hi Medic.
In regards to water proofing, cant you just use plastic bushings instead of bearings so nothing ever seizes. Im thinking off converting one of my tt01's into rally, and making it water proof. So i have to:
waterproof electrics,
replace bearings with bushings
and cake everything with marine gearse, lightly though, i think my dad will grab me some from his work.
Can u just confirm that i can use bushings without worrying. Thanks medic

I have some experience with run away large scale cars.I was demoing my Baja to a friend in my street when suddenly my car battery died and my baja ended up in one of my neighbor fence, which was made from concrete.Even the bad exp help to prevent it from happening again.
Stuff not made in China costs a little bit more, but the quality and customer service is much better. And its still way cheaper than a runaway. I know a guy that lost his whole HPI Baja in the ocean because of a runaway down the beach. Some people don't learn until its too late.

You should gear down your pinion and gear up your spur. Doing this will give you more torque but lower the speed a little. If you go the other way around you will over heat the motor because its trying harder to turn the tires.

I am having trouble to tune up my lost five carb. I have set it at 1/1/4 out low & 11/2 out high. When I hit the throttle, engine tend to die and spitting some gas and oil also it doesn't move. Any advice?
Most guys prefer Futabas on large scale gassers. The Futaba 4PL is good.
I cannot get this sob to work with my brand new DX4S, I've tried everything!!! Stock receiver, I want to keep the stock one for the Telemetry.
