  • join me in this week's vlog for a slightly more food focused look into my week. I try to always make sure my meals are healthy, nutritious and high in protein but I also like to find balance everyday and make sure that I still feel enjoyment when I'm eating! I don't count calories at the moment so I try to be as intuitive as possible when it comes to eating. lots of cooking and yummy eats coming up so I hope you enjoy! please don't forget to like, comment and subscribe and I'll see you here next week! love you all lots and lots!!!

You should run in bike shorts! I have never chafed because I always run in bike shorts that come to my mid thigh, where they would normally touch. Also for shin splints, I find doing weighted tibialis raises and calf raises in my resistance training has really helped with that. For the tibialis raises, I sit in a bench with my feet and ankles hanging over the edge, and put a kettle bell on my foot, like very low weight (10-15lbs to start) and then raise your feet, if you know what I mean. You should feel it on the front part of your shin. It has really been a game changer. I found out about it from knees over toes guy.
Love your vlogs though! Very real and I also like how much normal life you show, like the “boring” stuff, I love it. So homey.

I second this! I just ran my first half marathon two weeks ago and ran in bikers/compressions that went past the point of where my legs chafe (may not look the cutest but it's so nice and comfortable). I also ran in them for my entire training block. My favorites are the Janji 7 inch Pace Shorts! They've got little grippies around the legs too to make sure it doesn't ride up at all. And high waisted too. The best!

👏 literalllllly was going to comment the same thing! i do 5km to 50kms runs and biker shorts have saved my life. No chaff stick compares lol

second this!! additionally you can put your deodorant on your inner thighs to prevent chafing - no need for the fancy expensive balms that do the same thing.

girl if you feel shin splints coming up STOP running for like 3 weeks and eat a shit ton of proteins. i know its rough to not run for 3 weeks and u wanna keep training but i had shin splints & kept running on them and it ended up taking 8-9months to heal. a couple weeks suckkssss but 9 months sucks harder lmao

For your shin splints - a good running physio can assess your running form and give you exercises or ideas to help e.g increasing your cadence or running with a wider stance or strengthen certain muscles

You’re doing amazing, I totally agree with you that running is a totally different experience to strength training in terms of mental strength. It’s humbling, even the smallest things have such an impact - hormones, sleep and fuelling particularly on such a deeper level than with weight training.
For chaffing I recommend wearing longer shorts, I just saw gymshark released some longer bike shorts which you could try. I use sweaty betty 9 inch which are fantastic

Get some body glide for the chaffing it’s a game changer. They usually sell in stores too so it’s easy to access.

Second-ing body glide! But find the deodorant-style stick works better/longer than the cream :) regular vaseline/petroleum jelly also works and is usually cheaper
