I’m from a city called Motala and near it there’s a city named Vadstena.. It has a lot of Medieval History and in there is a church that was built by Heliga Birgitta and after she was canonized her little finger was put in a wooden box/ chest and you can still see it if you go there on display… in the church there’s also a Grave for one of King Gustav Vasa (1523-1560) sons and it the city there’s also a castle build by him…..
As a Swedish History nerd it would be cool if you checked out Usefulcharts video on the Swedish Royal family..

Skansen should be on your to-do-list. It's well worth a visit, especially if the weather is nice

Its this.. do the normal tourist things.. stroll around, do some sight seeing, eat some local food!
All that gonna make you exhausted anyway!
Its this.. its another country, other people, mostly swedes but altso a lot of tourists at summer!
Try some tourist tours/busses.. and it take three days to visit Stockholm castel/kungsträdgården.. then one need to visit Vasa museum and Djurgården/Skansen, one day at Drottningholms castel, where the king lives.. another day taking ferry to Waxholm/outer archipelago, and another day at Stureplan, the fancy club area!
Take good of time and a lot of money!

There's a Hobbit bed and breakfast in Stockholm?!!! Why didn't I know this! Have to stay there next time I visit Stockholm. It is indeed way too far to New Zealand but if I ever get the money for it I will definitely go there again.

I had NO IDEA about Swedish Hobbiton! My wife has been nagging me for years to go to NZ! And we could just take a car ride.
I would think nuns of the order of Birgit would visit the Holy Birgit statue.

Yes, I've been to China and the forbidden city among other places. 20 years ago I experienced no problems at all. I traveled with my mum and we even had a personal guide. (My brother worked in Shanghai at the time and had arranged a personal guided tour for us while he was busy working. I've seen more of China than he did and he lived there for a year.)

The Vendel Era (540-790 AD/CE) preceded the Viking era and that's when the Swedish started exploring the waterways in the areas that would become Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and so on, opening up the European continent for the Swedish Vikings.

The one thing I don't agree with in this list is the Golden Gate alternative. I suggest the Höga Kusten Bron as more accurate alternative, it is not even near to Stockholm however and most visitors to Sweden don't travel much further north than Arlanda Airport. Unless for skiing or wilderness experience.

It's true we're not a very religious country but there still are religious people in Sweden. But I have no idea who (and why) decided on placing a statue of Saint Birgitta there. We learned about her in school though so she is an important part of our history and yes, very famous. She ended up in Rome and I've visited her chapel there.

Also not a lot of us may be religious but the church still plays a big part in our lives. We still get married in our churches, we baptize our kids, we host funerals for our loved ones and etc

I think that many suicides jumping from Västerbron are accidents, Young and drunk people trying to show off, it happens all over, not all the time, but young men trying to impress girls or friends sometimes make bad decitions

Lol no. People jump off the Golden Gate Bridge because there is a very long drop to the very harsh sea. Not many chances of survival.
