Taiwan is the ancestral homeland of the Austronesian cultures, most of the groups present are Austronesian apart from the indigenous Australians. Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, East Timor and Madagascar are also Austronesian part aren’t pacific islands

Wow. Such ignorance and oversimplification on your part. While there is a distant and storied connection between the indigenous Chamorro/Chamoru of Mariana Islands and ethnic groups from Philippine islands (all Micronesia, Polynesia, Melanesia are connected via Austronesian umbrella anyway) simple research would explain to you that due to colonization from Spanish, that is where the similarity in the attire you saw comes from. This comment goes for Udon also.

The people of the Marianas and Palau departed from the Philippines/ Indonesia before the rest of the pacific was settled by other austronesians. Because of this they didn’t inherit any Melanesian dna until other Micronesians arrived about a thousand years later

@@CP0rings33that is very true. It's quite saddening when people criticize the Chamorro People's phenotype and not understand why they look distinct from other Austronesian people in Oceania. The Chamorro people were among the first Austronesian people to migrate to Remote Oceania, nearly 4,000 years ago, directly from Southeast Asia. According to genetic mutations from mitochondrial DNA analyses, their closest maternal relatives are people from Sulawesi and The Moluccas Islands in Eastern Indonesia. Even the Chamorro language is closest to Western Malayo-Polynesian languages, which encompasses Indonesia, The Philippines and Madagascar.
However, Central-Eastern Micronesians are a more recent colony of people within Remote Oceania. They arrived from Southeast Asia via Eastern Melanesia. Because Proto-Central-Eastern Micronesians resided in Melanesian for so long, their descendants are a conglomeration of Proto-Polynesians, Melanesians and a later arrival of Austronesians with a more Austro-Tai appearance. Mitochondrial DNA analysis shows Central-Eastern Micronesians are more closely related to Polynesians. Their languages even are within the Oceanic sub-branch of Malayo-Polynesian branch, which also includes Polynesian and Melanesian languages.
Palauans and Yapese are a mixture of groups who arrived directly from Island Southeast Asia and later gene flow from New Guinean and or the Admiralty Islands in coastal Melanesia and also people from Central Micronesia.
