    Greetings from South West Missouri. I am still fairly new to Bonsia and have been enjoying it immensely. I am so excited about airlayering and have been trying my hand over at my Mother's place in order to get a start of certain things in her yard. She is 98 and in a nursing home she is doing well. I never really cared about her collection while growing up. But now it's different the Airlayers that I started (failed) they had heavy callouses at top no roots. I am depressed with this result as I am maybe trying too hard. I watched the videos and read all I can. I have always grown plants /roses etc

    That mother plant you showed at the start of the video is a good example of how long it takes for these maples to thicken up.

    Did you say what process you used to develop such lovely roots? Was it just years of diligently repotting and pruning the roots?

    Thanks for the wonderful teaching! If you lift the tree a bit, how do you know that you arent leaving a pocket of air directly under the trunk? I didnt know there was different kinds of hormone powder! I will have to research what the difference between them is! Thanks again :)

    Are the roots enough to support such a big canopy? I understand that it is late in the season and it needs to come off but is this a bit risky?

    Sir, Can we do airlayer in pine trees. If you have any idea please give me a solution. Thank you

    • @BonsaiSociety
      @BonsaiSociety  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes pine tress can be layered but it takes from 2 to 10 years depending on trunk thickness before they form enough roots
