Question, I have QJ on my 69 Firebird 400 motor, soon it will have the #722 cyl head , matching Alum intake and Exh manifold upgrades on it. Lift should by right at 0.450" at vlv with the 1.65 rockers. Standard factory 10:75 compression etc. It's a 4sp car. I am not very familiar w QJ and so don't even know what I have inside my OEM unit, jet-rods, unknown values - size ratings. Car is a street driver, not drag racing. To go from OEM whatever this would be, what jets-rods would you recommend to use in this performance upgrade? Thx
Todd1153 sorry I meant to say do you have any tips on setting the secondary opening rate? I am trying to find the right combination of metering rods/hanger and secondary opening rate on my quadrajet
Todd1153 I have a g hanger and da rods I have a slight stumble as the secondarys open. before I put some new heads and dual exhaust and intake on my 350 it was tuned alright and there was no bog and I could hear that infamous quadrajet moan imediatly and it would pull hard. now not so much. if I put leaner ch rods there's no bog but it doesn't pull nearly as well

buy a quadrajet tuning kit. itll come with springs, metering rods, jets, etc.

Gage Dunn .020 hole in the Dash Pot, try a G hanger. Adjust the spring until the acceleration is clean
