No slurry restrictions with you will unlike in Ireland, were in our closed period which doesn't open till 1st February, like that here now for years, Dribble bar only here now from 2025, 399 are a great simple tractor would good longevity, The might lack a small bit on traction, Greetings from Ireland.
Hi Damien yes we aren’t in an NVZ here so we can spread slurry as long as conditions allow and yes I worry that dribble bars will be enforced sometime in the future, and yes I think sometimes our 399 could probably do with bigger tyres/wheels to help improve traction 🧐
Good video Will 👍 may be a slightly narrower spread but is definitely a much more even spread, only down side is that your gonna have more wheelings that could cause extra compaction 🤔👍
Hi Will. Great video. I follow your channel a lot and iv got a question. How come your always spreading slurry? Is your lagoon not big enough or just getting filled up with rain water?
Hi, and thanks, we don’t have a very big lagoon and it never gets empty until spring so we are always spreading through the winter just to make enough space to stop it from being full. It does get some rain water like any open lagoon but nothing excessive
@ ah yes I see. Thanks for that, I was just curious! That must be awful annoying to be at slurry so often. Dairy farmers around me spend 4 days per year at slurry and complain that it’s taking to long 😄
No it didn’t have any of the cone cut off, the one we got was a hi spec one off Wardman’s that wasn’t exactly the same fittings but we’ve made it fit 👍
Hi Will another very good video again my friend 😊
Thankyou Paul 😁

Thanks Bob! Yes compaction is a concern with a narrow spread but not really sure what can be done to tackle it :(

Good morning! ☀️
Good morning Dawny hope you keeping well😁
What spread plate did you go for mate. Did your old one have some of the cone cut off
No it didn’t have any of the cone cut off, the one we got was a hi spec one off Wardman’s that wasn’t exactly the same fittings but we’ve made it fit 👍
@ I cut about an inch or 2 on mine. And it made hell of a difference for not blocking up.
Good morning, Will. The narrow spread with isn't necessarily a bad thing. You're just putting more nutrients on in one pass. 👍
Good morning Lee! Yes that’s definitely one way of looking at it!😁
Did you blow tyre up ? And keep vids coming
Yes I did blow it up in the end it was looking very soft though!🙈
