I think Brad is getting the C. I've been a Bruins fan my whole life and they've usually picked older experienced leaders for the Captain role. Brad is going to get that C. One day it could be Pasta or MacAvoy, but they still look up to Brad. He showed it during the playoffs this year. I could feel he was the leader they needed in Patrice's absence. When the series was over, my hair stood up on my neck because something was going on after the game ended. You could see Bergeron and Krejci having a moment with themselves and then Marchand came over. It felt like it was changing of the guard and he was taking the role right there, like they may have already had spoken about it before. Now I'm sure we'll see it. I think Krejci is retiring, too. I have that feeling. Bergeron's 37 will definitely hang in the rafters up there. Maybe one day Marchand and Krejci's will be up there, too. We'll see.

    • @TheFoolintherainn

A reporter posted a photo of Brad Marchand wearing the C on his jersey in practice last week. It was legitimate
But I agree with you on how Bruins pick their captains, no disrespect to Nick Suzuki on Montreal canadiens, but that's ridiculous naming a toddler a captain
they have been cleaning up Brad's image the past five years... But the real telltale, first four games of the playoffs Brad Marchand and his grit led us to win three out of four games. When Patrice returned? We lost two out of three.
Matthew Tkachuck was having a field day-we had no grit, no response... We were trying to play Patrice bergeron's older gentleman's game.
      Bring on lucic!
Actually, David krejci said he wanted to win a championship with pasta-he loves playing with Pasta
But you might remember from that 2011 core, Milan Lucic was much closer to David krejci than the other two.
The core of 2011 was looch and krejci as the top point earners during the season, ference, Thornton, Adam McQuaide,(who's Bruins player development coordinator) you can throw in a few more names...
So a lucic- krejci connection to me, is closer to the 2011 core.
      Those guys do blind passes-
can David krejci resist the opportunity of playing with his past Stanley cup buddy with the future of the Bruins David pastrnak?
Lightning in a bottle is only caught once...
He can always play in Czechoslovakia next year!
Was wearing my # 46 shirt today... I think he's coming back. All this talk about needing to bring in another center? I think we already have one.

Marchand is such a massive troll on the ice that a lot of people don't realize he's such a stand-up dude when he's out and about. Another thing that you didn't mention -- as someone who sees his games more frequently, there have been multiple times over recent seasons I've seen him actually de-escalating situations by pulling Bruins players out of scrums. After all, why retaliate and take matching penalties when you can send just one of their guys instead? The guy has a fantastic knowledge of where the line is (even if that knowledge is usually abused to rile up opponents, lol)

Brad Marchand is not hated by other teams or players-they have voted him the most impactful player in the NHL for many years.
They don't want to play against him. But they all want him on their teams! He's welcome in their locker rooms.
he gets clicks for reporters and ESPN wannabe jocks to get fairweather fans and internet trolls, who have never played hockey, all hot and bothered 🙄
All you have to do is put his name in a story and people will read.
But he's done a lot off ice to stand up for players that people just don't know cuz the media is not going to tell you.
He stands up for a lot of people. And takes a stand against nasty Canadian fans. Answer the reporter's question about it one time, the next day he woke up to a suspension based on appearance of a slew foot that happened six years prior 🤔
Took on the NHL when they forbade NHL players to participate in the Olympics. I don't think common fans understand what that means for North American players. It's their only opportunity to get international and European training. Without it, it limits their careers.
Olympics was absolutely necessary for Jeremy swayman to get that training in a USA college goalie under 6 ft 3in? He's going to go nowhere until he gets that training
And Brad Marchand spoke up for young players like him-the next morning we woke up to him being suspended?
He's actually not the player with the most penalty minutes, fines nor suspensions. But he's the one that gets the most media attention and makes the most profit for the NHL when he does get suspended.
he's not a stupid jock, he can use intellectual arguments in the NHL does anything they can to shut him up.
George parros, head of player safety on the other hand, is a stupid jock. He was known as an enforcer, hi penalty minutes, and ended his career by falling down before a fight even started!? He gave himself a concussion when nobody touched him! He's head of player safety! 🙄
Reporters have to do something to earn their Hot pockets when there's no sports news

      @TheFoolintherainn ปีที่แล้ว

Actually Brad Marchand set his salary cap, took a long term loyalty contract cuz he wants to be a career Bruin.
But the reason why he earns that? he said he would never take more than Patrice Bergeron. His choice.
Marchand is absolutely not the most underrated player in the NHL, only by Fairweather wannabe fans. Other coaches and players have said they'd love him on their teams-they just don't want to play against him!
he's been voted the most impactful player for many years by reporters, coaches and other players.
You might notice during slow News times, the for-profit media puts out clickbait stories. They love hating Brad Marchand-it makes their hot pocket money for the week.
But there's something else that he does that most others don't realize, I don't have Twitter but I've caught on to this the last couple of years.. been able to see his posts
Off-ice, he takes on the NHL... Challenges nasty Canadian fans. After Milan Lucic went home to Vancouver, after the 2011 defeat-the fans were so nasty to he and his family he had to move. And when you interview him in Toronto? He loves talking about silencing the fans!
But he does piss off the NHL gods -
Brad was very upset that the NHL forbade players to from participating in the olympics-because that's often the only international or european experience North American players get. Without it, it thwarts their careers.
Jonathan Quick got his first Stanley cup just a few months after he trained and played in the Olympics Ivan that was not a coincidence
Jeremy swayman got screwed-that was his only opportunity to get international training. USA born collegiate goalies don't go far without that training
And that's also why the NHL & media go after Marchand. They're carrying out Bettman's agenda
Both times he answered questions from a reporter on Canadian fans, and when he spoke up for athletes wanting to go to the olympics-
the next morning we woke up to his suspension and fine.
Because of what he says off ice. If you actually read the player safety reports? The last few have been based on reputation only. They changed at ripping to a slew foot after the press conference regarding the Canadian fans, and according to the report it was based on his reputation in 2015. Not an actual infraction. It could have appeared he was slew-footing as he did in 2015, but it did not.
      I'm a fan, not a fool.
Funny thing is, he's not nearly the most penalized or suspended player-only when it happens to him it makes clickbait reporters happy cuz they get attention. Click$
He sort of like the Donald Trump of hockey... Any stories going to get attention
      (I don't do politics)
But yeah-he's a stand-up guy. Refuses to take more salary than Patrice Bergeron as he stated, so he doesn't" bleed his lines dry"

But I do think Patrice leads a different style game.
We saw shift from game 4 to game 5 when Patrice came back. It went beyond injury, the locker room became out of control. I also put that in manti, suddenly changing up lines like that tells his players he doesn't believe in them as they stand.
Furthermore,Monty told the players not to fight back to risk having to kill a penalty. Matthew Tkachuk had a field day like we had not seen.
There were a lot of things that went on-but the team lost focus under bergeron's captaincy
I wonder, perhaps the team plays harder when Bergeron is absent, and then when he returns they sort of take their foot off the pedal?
Bergeron was out for a couple of weeks prior, Brad Marchand did great leading the team.
Butch Cassidy lost the locker room
Perhaps Patrice Bergeron did also. For whatever reason, he's talked about the fact that getting prepared for games has become such a chore, he can't just throw on the skates and go anymore. Did that hit during playoffs?
Ultimately, I think he does put responsibility on himself, it's not really my opinion - he hung up his skates.
That pretty much says it all.

Not sure if funny is the right word here. Marchy was a third round pick that wasn’t even expected to make the NHL but with hard work and determination he became arguably the best winger in the league and one of the best to ever put on a Bruins sweater. You think that it’s the “funniest thing ever” because of the player he used to be. Drawing penalties and agitating the other team is what he is famous for but over the last 5 years or so he’s turned into so much more than that. Playing with Chara and Bergy for so long has really rubbed off on him and now that those two are gone there is nobody in the room that understands the previous captains ideas and values more than Marchy. Laugh all you want but he’s more deserving of the C than a lot of other captains in the league

To me, the only downside to Marchand signing with Boston and finishing his career there would be that he'd be missing out on the "Perry tour"- where so many people have said, "You'd like him if he was on your team." - well everyone outside of Anaheim hated Perry until recently and he's been an asset and well liked wherever he's gone- I believe Brad would get the same treatment- though it probably isn't worth as much as playing your career with one team as that's become so rare, and he's sooooo beloved there.

  • @SJReid82

After the prank the Bruins played on Marchy the other year, he probably wouldn't believe them even if they did give him the C. Still, I'd love it if they did. He's the guy I love to hate the most in the league, and seeing the Rat with a C would be awesome.

Yes. A Reporter posted a photo on Twitter at practice last week. Brad Marchand was wearing the captain C on his jersey. They joked about it in the past, I waited to see if it was a joke-but apparently Patrice Bergeron announced his intentions the next day on the 19th-although they didn't tell us till the 24th
They had to either denounce that photo, call it a joke or clarify the situation.
It wasn't a joke, and another comment on here said they announced Brad Marchand the captain on Friday 28th
I get confused cuz I'm in Alaska. So if you're on the East Coast, I'm your yesterday and you're my tomorrow.
But they got it out into the news feed on Friday so it would be the weekend sports headlines
Next, David krejci will come to his senses, finally accept the fact that he cannot resist playing with both pasta and his true 2011 core buddy, Milan Lucic. Those two are much closer than krejci with others, they were tied for the most points that season leading the team. Those were our blind passes, between those two.
He can't resist... He'll be back.
He's just got to figure out whether he needs to give his wife another house or another baby to get another year of hockey!

Well why don't you read those player safety reports first, and then you can fast forward another 5 or 7 years in your hockey viewing life and then you might figure out who Brad Marchand is. Do you know that he speaks up four other players against the NHL?
      No-you don't.
You just continue to believe the clickbait
Every other franchise wants him in their locker room. He's been voted the most impactful player in the NHL for years... Other players love him, they hate playing against him
      But they don't hate him
Hockey players have a sense of humor, unlike fair-weather fan internet trolls. You don't know what he's been doing cuz you just keep following for the reporter clickbaits. When they got nothing better to do, no Hot pockets in their freezer? They write a story about hating Brad Marchand and lookie! Their freezers full of Hot pockets again
      🙄
Cuz you clicked and you keep spreading this garbage from years ago.
Not every hockey player was brought up with a silver stick in their mouth and a social worker mother living in Quebec... Like Patrice Bergeron.

He just had hip surgery-how is it people have him gone in two years? They didn't give contracts after 35 years old because the rules change.
Now players like pasta are smart enough to get their contracts through 36 years old to protect themselves
He's not retiring in two years, unless his hips give out

  • @BoboMcBooboy
    @BoboMcBooboy ปีที่แล้ว

2:02 - Here's the thing, maybe a couple years ago, I'd have agreed that March is too immature to wear a C with respect... But he's been FAR less of a rat in the last couple years as he's gotten older... I really think he could wear it with respect from his peers around the league now, and be the official face now.
Some will always say he's a rat for life, but actions speak louder then words, and lately, I've seen more positive actions from March, and I'm a Jets fan who doesn't follow the Bruins in particular any more then any other team. Just my two cents

    • @TheFoolintherainn
      @TheFoolintherainn ปีที่แล้ว

It's wannabe clickbait reporters that keep putting that out there. They make money off of his name...
In the NHL rights up player safety reports, why don't you actually read one. His last two suspensions were based on reputation, from six years prior
And no suspensions happened to come after press conferences where he says things that the NHL doesn't like.
Like calling them out on forbidding NHL players from participating in the olympics-that screws with their careers. That's international and European training that players count on.
Add Brad Marchand spoke out against it, and the next morning he was miraculously suspended!

He's already been seen wearing the C on his jersey at practice last week.
He's already the captain. When Patrice Bergeron was out, he led the Bruins to win three out of four playoff games. Patrice returns? Bruins lose two out of three...
The goal of the sport is to win, not give out pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving and visit kids in hospitals to make masshole woke liberals happy.
Hockey's a tough sport. Either lace up, or get the hell off the ice
      Enough said.
